i need help?
first i apologize i am very computer illiterate! I have downloaded the game at home and it works perfect but on my laptop it will not play. I can get as far as choosing the difficulty of opponents then when i click start it shows the map but stays on the map. I can move the cursor and even selest units but all i see is the map? if some one could help i would appreciate it. My cpu is vista and i set it to run as windows xp

Re: i need help?
Welcome to the forums and welcome to Warzone2100!
first of as its like a splinter in my eye
A CPU is a bit of hardware in the computer that crunches all the 1's and 0's (in fact a CPU is the computer and all other hardware is considered essential periphery)
An OS (Operating System) is a piece of software designed to interface the hardware with the human . windows of all flavours and linux are all operating systems.
sorry about that i couldnt help myself =D
it would help us a lot if you could give the following to start with.
Laptop model
warzone version ( listed on the main menu screen)
again, welcome to the forums and have heart, with computers there is ALWAYS an answer, even if it isnt nice, lol

Re: i need help?
Most likely that you do have some Intel gma card in your laptop, so try updating a video driver.
Also, could you make a screenshot of your problem and post it here?

Re: i need help?
Hello. I hope I am writting to a correct place in forum
I managed to run Warzone 2100 latest release from SVN under Linux Kubuntu Karmic (newest) operating system. My simple question is, is it normal that I am not able to play in lobby using the latest version of wz?
Do I have to use the release version to be able to do that or would it be possible to make it work as it is? Perhaps I can simply change wz configuration to pretend being using the latest release version? After all, it is the newest one
(lobby asks to use the latest version when I get there

What is the exact version of your 'latest version'?DisLike wrote:Hello. And what do you mean you can't play in the lobby? version 2.3 b3 can only join 2.3b3 games, trunk can only join trunk, 2.2.4 can only join 2.2.4 ...
and it ends here.

Re: i need help?
Ubuntu/Kubuntu has a policy in which they do not provide the latest version of software to users of their stable releases. You'll have to either upgrade to Kubuntu Lucid, or download and compile the source code, if you want to play multiplayer.DisLike wrote:Hello. "Latest version" in Karmic is 2.2.2.Buginator wrote:What is the exact version of your 'latest version'?

Re: i need help?
I have compiled latest Warzone 2100 myself from Your SVN repository, so I gues I do have the latest (perhaps unstabile) version. The problem is that when I try to host a game, i get that lobby message saying I need to use the latest wz release.Zarel wrote:Ubuntu/Kubuntu has a policy in which they do not provide the latest version of software to users of their stable releases. By the way, when I compile Warzone and run it, on the right side it is written that version is locally modified. Perhaps that is the problem although I haven't changed anything myself. I have even reverted all the changes and updated again just to be sure.
On the other hand, the problem might be: "2.3 b3 can only join 2.3b3 games, trunk can only join trunk, 2.2.4 can only join 2.2.4"

Re: i need help?
Use the source code tarballs off the download page rather than svn trunk.
