[svn trunk] Patch for ugly crash
Please review patch in #1012. Fixed repeatable annoying SIGSEGV. But i can't find yet real source of that crash.

FYI: trac isn't sending tickets to the ML again, that is why some stuff doesn't get looked at right away.
