Portable Version - Set Resolution?

I downloaded the protable version of this game from portableapps.com. But when I change the video resolution, even when I exit and restart, the resolution is always 1024x768.

There are three spots for changing the resolutin in config files and I changed them all and it still doesn't work, always is 1024x768.

Files:

DefaultData\Settings\config file
Data\Settings\config file
Other\Source\Warzone2100Portable.ini file

Use mod manager 3.0 portable. Its in the showcase under the mod manager thread, somewhere in the middle I think. it lets you set that and much more from the gui. You can only use it with a reguler warzone install, not the portable apps version.

While we don't support that version (we didn't package it, they did...), the best thing to do would be to use the command line options to change the resolution. (or just create a new shortcut with the changes)
You can also use the in-game game options menu to change it. Either or will work -- as long as it can write to the config file...

Ok, that means it can't write to the config file. There should be a stderr.txt file in the same location as warzone2100.exe that tells you this.

I would like to chime in here as well... (4 months later yes i know)

I am also using the PortableApps version, I will post as well over at PA, but I still get the resolution issue!, I have tried a CMD line "-resolution 1920x1200" (which is non-standard AFAIK normally its -w 1920 -h 1200), didnt work, I tried modifiying all config files where the resolution, width or height is mentioned, and tried looking for the mod manager and still cant figure it out...

I have it installed on my home PC but I REALLY would like to get the PA version working properly...

I know you dont support it but would you happen to have ANY clues that could help...

(of note, switching from windowed to fullscreen DOES work, when i change the res settings ingame the config files DO update but when i quit then re-open its still back at 1024x768)

Wow, thanks for discovering that. I'll be sure to keep that in mind when someone else starts asking about resolution issues in the PortableApps version.

yeah even with the latest PApps version changing resolution is STILL bugged... Q_Q wonder where the incompatibility lies, with Warzone or with PA...

Most PAY apps (i know, paid so more functions) create the .ini file where its needed when you make options changes ingame, WarZone doesnt... not a problem if you ask me... but it exists

Yeah, that's the fault of the guy who made Portable Warzone; there's nothing we can do about it here.
