2.3beta 2 new weapons? o_O
I started a T3 game . . and i hade pretty much what was a mobile Mass Driver Fortress.
Oh they were called Alexs' Killer.
Any ideas?

Oh, that's a debug unit. It's far stronger than just a mobile mass driver fortress. It's intended to be for testing only; it should be impossible to get in a regular game. I don't know how it showed up in your game, though. Where did it show up? Which map? Which settings? Tell me everything you can.

it was popping up in every game that i hosted, on nearly every setting that i tried, i used a few different maps, mainly 8 player ones.
i tried T1 and T2, it showed up there as well. Along with the -2heavy cannons on one tank- units. (Side question: Is there a way to get those? or is it another test vehicle?)
I had friends set up a game and try along with me, we got one or two of them going without all the extra stuff, but someone else was hosting, and in all but one of those I wasn't in it.
No scavengers, Fog Of War, the starting structures were changed game-to-game. and always max power starting off.

I was in the game (Dreaver, Korusray, Bert Styles and Demise are my usual play buddies), we set up a bunch of different times We had 5 people playing, We tested with our other hoster everyone EXCEPT Dreaver and it worked, Dreaver joined, we had all the debug tanks. We set it up again with everyone and didn't have them, so we tried to have another real game...only to have it "dirty" (Alex Killas, etc). We worked on this for an hour before giving up and playing something else.
On that note, we've done various comp stomp games where the Comp players would have dual-cannon tanks. Is this another glitch, or what? I'd be a great feature, and its only happened on Beta1 and 2. Never on 2.2.4, none of these problems happened on 2.2.4.

Hmm. Maybe one of the players was cheating, or running an unknown mod? That's my guess...
Do you think you could come on IRC, and we could debug it together?

For the record, we've playtested and duplicated this bug with Zarel, hes got the info he needs and apparently its a doozy.
Work around for anyone else with this bug:
<Zarel> One of the slots between #2 and #5 need to be blank.
<Zarel> So the easy way, is to not play games above 4 players.
<Zarel> But if you want to play games above 4 players, you're going to need 6 players.
<Zarel> So then once all 6 players have joined, one of the first 4 need to leave.
<Zarel> I'll try to fix it for beta 3. This is just a workaround until then.
<Zarel> Probably too complicated, so just play 4P games until then. :/

OH YES. FIXED (in r8499/r8500). It may have taken me like five hours, but I finally got it to work!
Remember in r7447, when I said the template system had eldritch horrors? I was right - there's a corner case when players 0-4 are human and player 5 isn't, that will cause all humans to get the AI templates. Now that I understand it, I've rewritten the whole thing to be slightly less hacky, and also commented it a lot more. I also used my new knowledge of the template system to explain templates.txt better in TxtEditing. You're welcome, future modders.
Whoever originally wrote the template code at Pumpkin must've been drunk or something. So let that be a lesson to you, don't drink and code!
