I upgraded my rig to play my other games more comfortable and now my beloved Warzone gets crippled. I used to run the latest build of Warzone 2100 just fine on my old setup.
AMD Athlon64
Asus K8V-N
ATI Radeon X800 Pro 256
Ultra ATA Hard drive
Now when I run with my new setup I get an error.
AMD Athlon64x2
Asus M2N-E
GeForce 8800 GTX 768
SATA Hard drive
Except the 8800 (7600 here) i have exact the same system setup here. No problems at all.
Maybe some drivers are screwed up? Does other games/applications run well? Latest build= 2.0.5 or 2.0.6_pre?
If yes,... i remember reading at some other projects problems with the 8800.
(They patched something to make it work with a 8800, but i can't imagine this here)
We all have the same heaven, but not the same horizon.
With the upgrade I was able to run my much heavier games at full max (Battlefield 2, Medieval 2: Total War). I will try different drivers. Not like there's much of a choice of drivers with this card.
I got it working. I tried three different drivers sets and the last one worked. The Forceware 100.87 drivers worked. It ran Warzone 2100 with no problems. The trade off is these are not the best drivers for the rest of my games. Oh well, I guess they'll have to do for now. I need my Warzone 2100.
Yes, as long as it not a bug in the drivers, it could be usefull to know about what problems we create in OpenGL...
But I guess it will be the first, probably because a buggy implementation of GL immediate mode, while all other games use FBOs, VertexArrays or similar.
