2.2.4 (modified locally)
thats what i get on my load up screen. i dont understand, ive deleted it, played with the various mods, re install e.t.c
why on earth does a vanilla copy say modified locally =/

have you checked your desktop link, or what ever you use to fire up the game? remove all --tags

...don't worry about it. "Modified locally" just means the developer who made the installer you downloaded was lazy about making an official build. Go complain to Giel. 
(You'll notice the installers I build - i.e. the Mac OS X ones - don't say "modified locally"...

rofl ,you say that...i was pulling my hair out wondering all sorts like i added a mod in ages past and it somehow found it, or there was a fault with the install that made it think it was modified or worse, a virus infected a file.
but as has been said, it was just a minor tidy up issue and not actually anything to do with me being incompetant or something not right with my copy/machine...i can sleep tonight, lol.
