This is the exact same problem that I was having with my structures mod attempt.
I changed the flight speed of every weapon that's used in the game (or at least I tried to). I used the 1.10 weapons.txt file as a reference. My goal was to change the flight speeds of the weapons so that they matched the ones from 1.10. When I was finished, the first thing I did was to leave the folder format as a regular folder (no zip, 7z, or wz). It didn't work. The funny thing is that I tried this with my NTW bug correction and it worked.
Next, I tried the various extensions and it still didn't work. So then I moved the mod around and placed in the multiplayer folder, the global mods folder, etc. Still didn't work.
So then I decided to download milo christiansen's Mod Manager. Still didn't work.
Now, I've decided to show you my weapons.txt file because I've had enough of these failures. Nothing I try works.
Can anyone tell me what I did wrong?
The only thing I changed was the flight speed (numbers like 2250, 1800, 1500, etc.).
By the way, whenever I change a folder to a wz. file, it turns from 670 KB to roughly 170 KB. I had to compress it first to make it a wz file. Could this be my problem?
When I run the game, everything works fine. No crashes, but my changes don't take effect.

Re: Having problems with weapons.txt
Did you place it in "C:\Program files\Warzone2100\mp\stats\" or just "C:\Program files\Warzone2100\mp\"?
The .wz file should be zip compressed then re-named .wz. The text file should be placed at "Whatever.wz\stats\weapons.txt". Hope this helps.

In general, if you see glowing, pulsating things in the game, you should click on them.

Re: Having problems with weapons.txt
Update: My mod works! All I had to do was change the weapons.txt file, leave it in the mp folder without compressing it, and make sure it ran the game.
I honestly don't know what happened.
@ milo christiansen: I didn't even have to change the folder to a wz file. It runs fine without it.

Re: Having problems with weapons.txt
If you make a .wz file place it in the correct sub folder of the mods folder then use the mod manager to load it.
By placing your mod in "whatevrefolderhasyour.exe\mp" your change is loaded as the default.
