hi all
I'm is there any weapon you can equip to a VTOL that doesn't require it to return to base to re-arm I can understand this with something like missiles or bombs but what about say lazes that don't use ammo as there energy based or is the need to rearm more of a balance thing ?

Re: Unlimited VTOLS ??
The other day, my friend and I were playing against a few bots just screwing around. I started sending Cyborg Transports to attack large groups of enemies that were not equipped with any AA weapons. Cyborg Transports have a limitless machinegun. Eventually, my friend cranked out 241 transports and started circling the enemy bases. They were destroyed in seconds with no need to re-arm.

...energy based weapons don't need ammo? o_O Where do they get the energy? Did you just invent a perpetual energy generator? The laws of physics say that's impossible...Bethrezen wrote:but what about say lazes that don't use ammo as there energy based

I think the engine of the unit is what he is refering to.Zarel wrote:...energy based weapons don't need ammo? o_O Where do they get the energy? Did you just invent a perpetual energy generator? The engine is a finite power source. o_OAvestron wrote:I think the engine of the unit is what he is refering to.
If a fluff explanation is necessary: The engine only takes a small amount of power, so even though you don't have enough power for another laser shot, you have enough power to fly the VTOL for the rest of the game.

If VTOL Lasers had unlimited ammo, they would be a total bitch to kill.

You can say that again.Zero-Omega wrote:If VTOL Lasers had unlimited ammo, they would be a total bitch to kill.
It would throw off balance so much it would not be funny.
If the AA guns were 500% stronger and 1000% faster to build then maybe.
This is a waste of space. Something important should be here.

AFAIK the vtol weaps more powerful then their ground based versions too.-Kosh- wrote:You can say that again.Zero-Omega wrote:If VTOL Lasers had unlimited ammo, they would be a total bitch to kill.

maybe nerf them, give them voley fire & a slow recharge.
