Kinda hard not to stereotype atleast a little on this issue... I know a lot of female gamers and none of them ever once mentioned playing any games in the core RTS genre (or chess for that matter) and I just don't understand why. Ironically most of them prefer FPS's and RPG's which I've never been very good at. Though there's probably some exceptions or genre-crossers, like Plants VS Zombies and whatever else is really cute in a strategic way.
...Though how any game with "Warzone" in it's name could be expected to *look* like anything other than an actual warzone, is beyond me as well.
