Hope someone can help.
I'm running Fedora Core 11, on a Dell 640m with a 945GM chipset.
I downloaded 2.2.3 and tried to compile, no issues. However, when I run the game, I don't get any text in the menu. I do have the Deja Vu fontset installed.
So I thought maybe I compiled wrongly. I deleted the .warzone2100-2.2 folder and downloaded the binaries from KPackageKit instead, and the menu still had no text.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the Deja Vu fontset, and it still doesn't work. I did some browsing around, and found a similiar problem, but happening only to Windows builds. I followed the steps (copy the etc/fonts/ folder from devpkg) but still not menu text.
By clicking around the menu, I managed to get into the actual game ( a little herky jerky since I couldn't set the graphics options ), but itt's still impossible to play without text.
Somebody help me out?

Try to update the drivers. I had this issue, when I got my EeePC. If this doesn't work... Dunnow!!

I already have the latest drivers installed. According to yum, I have xorg-x11-drv-intel-2.7.0-7.fc11.i586.

Re: No menu text
It is a shitty intel video driver issue.
You may be able to try this http://www.mail-archive.com/warzone-dev ... 05994.html
If that does not work then you have to try different video drivers and maybe one will be less shitty.

This is a waste of space. Something important should be here.

I followed that link, but am not sure what the fix is?-Kosh- wrote:It is a shitty intel video driver issue.

BTW, Fedora 11 on a Dell user with the same 'no menu text' problem.
