Re: Upgraded Truck model/texture needed!
Ok, I've literally downgraded the model I've made, removed some parts, scaled down others, but anyway
Does it look downgraded enough, good enough, and proportional enough?
If it is ok, I'll procceed to texturizing it.

Do you think you could reverse the direction of the "blades", so they stick out more?

Re: Upgraded Truck model/texture needed!
You mean in both of them, right? I can do it in any case, just need to know that
Actually, I was thinking about what were Pumpkin concept artists thinking of when they've made the truck design. I mean, what are those "claws". Some kind of particle projection device, that's our best bet.
What do you think on making a more coherent design, since we're replacing both the trucks' design, probably? If so, I'll make some research on contemporary particle projection system prototypes and find a way to make something similar

Well, feel free to make two truck models, if you want. Make sure to make them different enough that you can tell them apart at a glance.

I like the last model with out inverting anything.

It all makes sense now!
(yeah, I couldn't come up with anything that made enough sense using real technology
)
I'll make a model with inverted "claws", brb

Ok, here's the more serious versions
Are they good enough?

Yeah, that's good.
They don't look different enough though. Maybe if you got rid of the blocky part in the middle-front of the smaller one?

Re: Upgraded Truck model/texture needed!
Ok, here are they, with much more evident difference.
Research info for upgraded truck could be:
"Advanced truck module upgrades hitpoints and construction speed"
or, in portuguese:
"Módulo avançado de caminhão melhora os pontos de vida e velocidade de construção"
This way, the evident "module" would be the front "boxy" part, where an additional set of "building projectors" (
) system is added.

Re: Upgraded Truck model/texture needed!
I personally think that the lates models look fantastic :c)
The switching of the 'materializer prongs' looks ok but I suggest alligning the thickest section with the front edge of the truck (or alternatively re-switching and lengthening the prongs backwards so as not to look too puny.

I could take a shot at this with my 3DsMax App just to get another peice of concept art in.... but I'd need to know ahead of time if the "Improved" Truck Bed can be both Larger and Heavier than the basic model?

Look forward to seeing these textured and in-game. They clearly obsolesce the original to my eye even at this stage.Olrox wrote:Ok, here are they, with much more evident difference.

It's not heavier, no. But larger is perfectly fine.Ilr wrote:I could take a shot at this with my 3DsMax App just to get another peice of concept art in.... but I'd need to know ahead of time if the "Improved" Truck Bed can be both Larger and Heavier than the basic model?

Re: Upgraded Truck model/texture needed!
I think it would be too long if they were positioned like that. As you can see at this post, the upgraded truck is already very long. I think that it should be scaled to be more or less the size of a ripple rocket artillery, otherwise it would loose details and the "upgraded - larger - better" distinguishment from the simple truck.Avestron wrote:I suggest alligning the thickest section with the front edge of the truck (or alternatively re-switching and lengthening the prongs backwards so as not to look too puny.
Anyway, I think those need a texture for us to see if they are ready or not, therefore I'll do that this weekend probably then I'll post it here.
Thanks for the appreciation,
Olrox
