Quick Basic qestions to start off!

Hi i'm new here and this is an old classic game i'm eager to play.
I have a few quick qestions.
When i donwload the instructed file, is it zipped?
Does the file allow me to play the game against the computer or online?

both, i personally have been having a problem gettin it to play online, it pops up and error message asking me if port 2100 is open, not sure if u will have that problem but it is a fun and challenging game

thanks, but the file i have to download, do i have to unzip it or simply downlaod and install?

if your on windows - just double click the exe.

on mac or linux - i am not sure anymore as i dont have either one.
