Scrambled UI/Overlays

Post by Ilr »

Pardon me plz if this was mentioned elsewhere, I DID look through several pages trying to find this problem elsewhere but had no luck

Everything looks like this:

When I change windows display from 32-bit to 16-bit, it fixes that scrambling problem... but it makes everything respond at 1/100th the speed it should, and as a result prevents me from even getting past the main menus b/c all maps refuse to load at that point. (can't even start a new campaign b/c it locks up from the video Conflict-"lag"). ..almost like it's trying to run everything though an Emulator or stack overflows...

XP pro, nothing else weird going on with my system... and the Card I bought was SUPPOSED to be the most standard and stable I could find with a reverted driver version(v.6.14.11.7474) intended to run older games (b/c that's what some guy recommended for the 7600 on Nvidia's forums)... DX_diag results here:

Any help is greatly appreciated (even though I intend to replace this system entirely at the end of the year)...

First you could reinstall the game and see if that fixes it, if not uninstall your video drivers, reboot your PC then install the latest drivers for your card and a good place to get them is either windows update or nvidia's drivers section.
Steam: SniperStorm3850
Xfire: SniperStorm4850
My PC: Anthlon II 3.6GHz, 4GB DRR2, 4850 1GB DRR3, Vista Ultimate x64

While doing a complete purging of the current Drivers in Safe Mode, I noticed that there was a second "unknown" device adjacent to my Video Card's driver icon ... which I removed. So I'm not sure if it was that thing... or reinstalling the "latest" drivers... but it worked either way and I can actually the UI now. So thank you! :P

The 7600 should also be able to handle the trunk version of the game, that has better gfx.
and it ends here.
