A quick question about incendiary weapons

Post by javierkaiser »

Do the upgrades to flamers affects the incendiary weapons? (mortars, howitzers, bombs)

I know, ok, those are upgrades to flamers only (I think), but those could affect the "fire" side of those weapons, like, adding more duration to the fire after the hit, more damage (not to the direct hit)...

Just a thought :)

I don't think so, I'm not sure that any of the upgrades actually increase incendiary time or damage. :-S

The upgrades don't in 1.10 or 2.1, but in 2.2 the upgrades do also upgrade incendiary damage (and splash damage).

But no, incendiary mortars take mortar upgrades, etc. The Guide provides details.

yeah, I know that Incendiary mortar/howitzer were updated with the generic updates of their clases...
And, thanks for the answer, if the fire is upgraded that way, that's wonderful. ^^

Given your avatar icon, surely you'd know that... If not, you can always look it up on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incendiary_weapons).

So,incendiary weapons in game do both kinetic damage and thermal damage?

I think incendiary howitzers and maybe mortars should do some kinetic damage as well.

Mainly the incendiary howitzers because the impact should do some damage in itself.

The problem is that burn damage, afaik, is untyped. So if incendiary howie were kinetic, it would do no thermal damage at all, which makes no sense.
