Tutorial mode?
I was reading the Challenges topic, and I thought a tutorial mode or a tutorial mod would be a great idea.
I'd be willing to, like, write up a whole layout for a tutorial mod/mode, but I don't know how to mod Warzone, so if anybody would be willing to help, would you mind...?

Re: Tutorial mode?
Have you tried the place where it says "Tutorial" in the main menu?
...or are you talking about something different?
EDIT: Forget about it... I see, what you ment!! My fault!!

Re: Tutorial mode?
What do you mean by a tutorial mode? What would it be like?

Re: Tutorial mode?
Series of missions, end on end, to slowly teach a player the mechanics of the game, eventually ending with a battle against the scavengers, which could be compared to, say, Fast Play.
It'd be good if there was, say, a menu allowing the player to pick any tutorial mission they would like to play, just as a refresher.

Erm, sounds like Tutorial + Alpha 1. Warzone isn't really complicated enough to have an extensive tutorial.BlueMaxima wrote:Series of missions, end on end, to slowly teach a player the mechanics of the game, eventually ending with a battle against the scavengers, which could be compared to, say, Fast Play.

Re: Tutorial mode?
You really think so? I mean, there are a few things that are confusing to the person who's jumped in without the manual, like groups, using ranged units, and so on. Considering there isn't a good bundle of documentation with WZ yet, which may change in the future.

Re: Tutorial mode?
Um, LOL, but I meant with Warzone itself - some people do go to websites, download the game and skip everything entirely you know.
EDIT: By everything, I meant documentation
EDIT 2: docs.wz2100.net is ridiculously out of date in my opinion
Probably should be called olddocs.wz2100.net

Re: Tutorial mode?
WZ Modders and Map makers still find those documents relevant and very useful. Ergo, I would say the word "ridiculous" could only be used if you do neither and understand less of either. So what's left ? Let me put it succinctly - blah, blah, blah... and humbug. O_OBlueMaxima wrote:

Re: Tutorial mode?
What we need is an advanced tutorial that teaches how to use sensors, CB, radar detector, commanders and so on, for those who won't be playing through the campaign.

Re: Tutorial mode?
My thought exactly Per. However, teaching how to run without teaching them to walk...?

Feel free to suggest additions to: http://guide.wz2100.net/sensorsPer wrote:What we need is an advanced tutorial that teaches how to use sensors, CB, radar detector, commanders and so on, for those who won't be playing through the campaign.
I know I probably miss some things, so suggest as much as you want.
