Am I allowed to post files from the demo of the game?
I wanted to make a mod that uses files from the Jan.20 1999 version of the demo. (Stats, Scripts, PIE Files, and Textures that are not in original version of the game) As there is a lot of unused stuff that was supposed to be in the game, but was cut from the retail version. I know that I can use these for private use, but I wanted to know if I can post the mod on here when it is finished, using files dervived form the demo. And also, what about the PSX files am I allowed to use them for private use as well? what about public posting if these files in mods?
Much thanks are apprecated.

Erm, it's fine by us. I'm pretty sure it's fine by the second Pumpkin license clarification, too.
ooc, what kind of things that were later removed are you talking about?

Return to your designated zone or be destroyed. You are in contravention of the new paradigm.

The things changed/removed were- various stat changes, 3d models changes, completly new weapons, and some different structures.Zarel wrote:Erm, it's fine by us. I'm pretty sure it's fine by the second Pumpkin license clarification, too.

The demo in question, by the way, came with the retail version of the game, and was/is on VTOL's Map Website for download, along with two more demos, And most likely avaible online elsewere in 1999, as the build is dated Jan.20 1999

Define us?
I am pretty sure Kamaze wouldn't want anything that wasn't in the "official" archive hosted on his site.
The vids + music are OK, since they got the GPL go ahead by Alex...the other stuff is still in the gray area.
and it ends here.

Thanks, I will refrain from posting these until there is further clarification.
