Actually an idea just came to me.

Would it be possible for friendly structures being demolished to make a crackling sound and perhaps special effects of tiny flashes ? If so then that would mean that structures help friendly units to take them down fast.

Would it also be possible for all units - especially trucks - to ram buildings (generating damage according to weight - and distributing damage between itself and the target depending on armour (and why no a specialist ram vehicle in early game that suffers less or no damage)?

This would kill truck rushes because one or two towers could relatively easily be taken down by a pack of 4 trucks or a couple of ram units. ^_^

Just a thought. When get a structure design system (could be a while ;) ), rushers will have to build a CC so they can design MG Tower.

CC is already a prereq for MG Tower in 2.3.

How will this work out? will players need to research HQs? (not a bad idea)

truck rush isn't an issue. The standard of online play is an issue, I haven't lost any T1 game on the net ever as far as I can recall. Gets depresing after a while anhilating one turtler after another, I have taken to been sadistic and building a wall around there base and seeing how long it takes them to rearlise I have the entirity of the map apart from there base. Sometimes people truck rush etc. but this always stalemates and resolves into a slightly longer game before they ultimatly fail.

No, players will need to build HQs before they can research MG tower.

See above. I've been considering applying it to all weapon structures. It's in line with the standard of "HQ is needed for making new designs, but not manufacturing/building existing designs".

Go arrange games on the IRC channel (see the FAQ). If you just randomly play online, you'll get up against a lot of new players, but if you arrange games with the skilled players on the IRC channel, you're more likely to feel challenged.
