Hello
I am playing since few weeks now and have collected some questions concerning the game and the mods related to it.
You have to know that this game is totally new for me, the WZ2100 version 2.2.X is the first I ever played (and seen). What is confusing is that there are a lot of mods, AIs, tools which seems works for older version of WZ and are not compatible to WZ2.2.x
Possibly other noob like myself could take advantages of this post.
1) Is there any possiblity to play WZ2.2.x on various weather conditions ?
2) What is DYWERA - Dynamic Weather Randomizer Script? is it a MOD?
3) I play mainly skirmish and campaign therefore using various AI is important. Can someone provide a list of the best AIs which works with WZ 2.2.x? possibly with a download link:.
AI Name - download location - works with WZ 2.2x?
BecomePrey 2.92 - (download) - YES
AIvolution - (already in the game package) - YES
Super AI - ? - ?
Turtle AI - ? - ?
v.1.04 AI - ? - ?
Water A.I. - ? - ?
GK A.I. - ? - ?
4) The slider are used to increase or decrease the AI strength only of the Standard AI or will the apply to any AI? (I know already they do not work with BecomePrey)
5) Am I right to say that AIs generated with NEWST AI Editor do not work with WZ 2.2x?
6) Am I right to say that VSC & KMS do not work with WZ 2.2x?
7) which mod development tools are ok for WZ2.2.x?
Thanks in advance!
Stefano

1. No.
2. No idea. Where did you hear about it?
3. Why does your download link for BP link to a version incompatible with 2.2.x? Just link to viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3018 . Your other AIs aren't known whether or not they work with WZP Warzone... it should be fine.
4. They work as long as the AI is set up to make it work. Go ask the individual AI writers (or the AIs themselves should come with documentation).
5. They don't work out-of-the-box, but I'm sure it won't be too hard to convert them.
6. Yes.
7. Notepad. You really don't need anything that doesn't come with your OS. Personally, I use WinRAR, Notepad2, and MS Excel 2010TP for modding Warzone.

.
1.) As a visual GFX, see (2.). As something that actually impacts GPMs - like Zarel said.
2.) Rain, snow and lightening GFX that has been a part of Become Prey A.I. for years. It is also Niker's creation.
3.) Super A.I., Turtle and v.1.04 all work with v.2.2.1 as well.
- Water A.I., GK and the first iteration of Aivolution with Unit Transport drops (for the v.1.10c binary) do not. These last 3 A.I.'s come with custom WZ resources in addition to .slo and .vlo scripts and those resources (originally in .wdg form) would have to be made compatible with v.2.2.1 and of course contained in .wz format.
4.) They work on all A.I.'s but Become Prey.
5.) Merely change from .wdg to .wz and follow current directories.
6.) KMS no - it is specifically designed to be a "Mod & A.I." set-up for the .v.1.10 and v.1.11 binaries
VSC - yes. A very useful step up from using Note Pad to write WZ A.I. scripts. It will save you countless hours in finding bugs in your .slo and .vlo
7.) What Zarel said but I also still find PieSlicer, WZCK, VCS, WdgExplorer and the 2 A.I Editors (Ski & Cam) useful as long as you understand specifically how v.1.10 and 2.2.1 differ.
I can also answer all the questions in your other thread. But it will have to wait for over the week end as I must go to work now.

All known AIs, you mean.whippersnapper wrote:4.) They work on all A.I.'s but Become Prey.
Notice that this is slightly more complex than renaming. You'll have to extract with WDG Explorer and recompress, at the very least.whippersnapper wrote:5.) Merely change from .wdg to .wz and follow current directories.

All mentioned A.I.'s I tested already. I also have a set-up where I can play them all in the same game as multiple personalities. Gotta set -up by hand so it's not as convenient as the original ModSwitcher which later morphed into WZ Starter.Zarel wrote:All known AIs, you mean.

Yes. Some other changes are required as well in .txt files but once you know where and what to change it goes pretty fast. I've done it.Zarel wrote:Notice that this is slightly more complex than renaming. You'll have to extract with WDG Explorer and recompress, at the very least.

Re: Noob F.A.Q.
Thanks for the reponse guys.
Why do you say BP2.92 does not work with WZ2.2.1?
I have played few games on WZ2.2.1 without any big issue.

I would like to use as many AI as I can on WZ2.2.1...also the old ones...

I have made a similar mod which puts together BecomePrey, AIvolution and the standard AI which comes with WZ2.2.1. It seems the game can be playable in WZ2.2.1. The game starts with no issues, I still have to play a game until the end but I have no time this week-end...to be sure the AI are loaded I added a small script within each AI which make them "announcing" when loaded (see below):whippersnapper wrote:I can play them all in the same game as multiple personalities

what about a mini tutorial about this ?whippersnapper wrote:Yes. Some other changes are required as well in .txt files but once you know where and what to change it goes pretty fast. I've done it.

Re: Noob F.A.Q.
there is TODO wiki section where devs said they would like to "give a possibilty to choose AIs in skirmish in the future", i think your mod does it!

Re: Noob F.A.Q.
There are two versions of BP 2.92: There's "BP 2.92 for WZ 1.10" and "BP 2.92 for WZ 2.2.1". You linked to the first one, which is, unsurprisingly, incompatible with 2.2.1.DylanDog wrote:Why do you say BP2.92 does not work with WZ2.2.1?

Ok, I see now what you mean...I have downloaded BP2.92 from this forum but I thought this could be found on Niker' s webpage too. I have now noticed on his webpage there is only the BP version compatible with WZ.10.Zarel wrote:There are two versions of BP 2.92: There's "BP 2.92 for WZ 1.10" and "BP 2.92 for WZ 2.2.1".
