Converting .pie files.

Post by Argent Hawk »

Hi. I was wondering if anyone new a program to copnvert warzones .pie files to well anything that can be imported by gMax. I found '3D Object Converter' that does it to all the file types, but only if I pay $50. Not really what I want to do. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,
If you use blender + wz import/export scripts you are able to import WZ pi files and export to whatever you want to.
Its not automatic so you have to do it one by one. Even so i ts a big help.
You can find the blender scripts here viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3438

Ok. Thanks I got it. Now I just got to read the tutorial or something. I import the model and nothing shows up. Just that box thing that starts in the screen. :P

EDIT: Nevermind. I figured it out.
Is there anyway to import the textures with it? It asks but non appear on it. Or when I export and open with gMax.

First before you import pie into blender, hit 'A' key twice to have all objects (cube, light, camera) selected and then 'X' key and select Erase selected objects.
Then import desired pie file to blender.
The texture and UV's are imported too. To see the object textured hit ALT+'Z' key.
You should look at the blender introduction tutorial at least to see how to look in blender on things you want.
