I've had an idea about using the proposals page to suggest things in a more orderly manner to the wishlists. Tell me what you think:

This is only an idea, I haven't done much work on it yet.

Re: Filling out the proposals page
It's mainly a wiki for common ideas to be placed and some comments given to their feasability. I don't want it becoming a wishlist in table form.
It's not the chaos of a wishlist thread and it's not the tidiness of needless and repetitive request tickets. It's something in-between people could check to see if their idea has been though of before.
Hmm that could be useful to put in the header ^

Re: Filling out the proposals page
Hmm, I don't remember reading about any of these ideas before...
I've formatted the first two ideas with a new format, which I think is easier to read.
Some of the ideas on your list have already been rejected... For instance, a day/night cycle really provides no benefit. Environmental sounds are kind of unnecessary, we already have "Structure Under Attack" and "Unit Under Attack" messages.
I don't think you've realized, but multi-turret and naval have already been implemented. They're just not available without mods because they have unresolved balance and graphics issues.
"Spectator mode" isn't exactly being implemented right now. It's on the "wait for Betawidget" list, which means I'm not going to touch it before Betawidget is done (read: never).

Hmm I had a feeling betawidget was just around a corner, oh well.
Anyway this was just an ideia, it's not fully flushed out and I haven't done the research work necessary.
If you play company of heroes you'll notice small things like units in your current view shouting: "We are under attack". If you are 2 screens away you'll hear them shout out with a small radio noise in the background, if you're on the other side of the map you will hear them talking with a lot of radio interference.
Likewise, in Dawn of War you might be taking refuge in your base after a big battle and hear sounds coming from an opponents base really far away, signalling that someone else has decided to apply his might against your enemy.
In Warzone this could mean things like hearing the Gauss rifle from a rather large distance compared to a commander gun, thus making sure you know about the power being played around with.

I stole most of them from the first Wishlist thread. That's the main point of the page: There were some great ideas there I'm sure most of us have forgotten.Hmm, I don't remember reading about any of these ideas before...
I really hate to be off-topic but environmental sounds are more of an immersion thing rather than a "notification".Environmental sounds are kind of unnecessary, we already have "Structure Under Attack" and "Unit Under Attack" messages.

For instance, a day/night cycle really provides no benefit.
adds a new dimension to the game, with addition of lights & light cones of course
Arizona windEnvironmental sounds are kind of unnecessary,
thats all I can come up with

I mean, having some levels look like night and some look like day would be kind of interesting, but switching between them at fixed intervals would just get annoying, I think.XANAX wrote:adds a new dimension to the game, with addition of lights & light cones of course![]()
