i had a crazy thought the other night about how cool it would be to have an operating system based off of warzone 2100's gui. specifically, the hub.
thought it would work like this:
Production Button:
selecting the production button would bring up a window (above the Hub, much like in the game) with applications such as Open Office, Gimp, Ubuntu Studio and other types of software used in producing documents, audio editing, video editing, cd/dvd and other production based apps.
Research Button:
the research button would bring up a window (like in warzone) displaying such apps as: Konqueror, Firefox, BitTorrent, email software, instant messengers, and other internet/research related apps.
Build/Construction Button:
Games. Comes with Warzone 2100 standard.
Design Button:
System preferences. Such as: desktop background, window color, fonts, and more.
System Button:
System updates. Receive all updates after review here.
Commander Button:
Administrative Portal. Set access restrictions, create/modify/delete user accounts.
View system logs and more.
probably would never happen, but it was kool to think about.
any other ideas like this?

Yeah, you're right, that could be cool!
But no need of making an OS of it, just an interface, like Gnome or KDE...
