low fps maps

Some of the maps I play have really low fps like "concrete" and "ziggurat" while seemingly more complex maps such as AI assualt (excellent job btw) play just fine even lowering texture, # of AI, #of factories,#of power generators all dont seem to make a difference. sometimes it speeds back up after I pause (catching up I guess) but it gets slow again. I have a 64 mb integrated video card on a 2.6 ghz pentium

This might be the problem. Most on-board video devices don't support openGL, and other rendering protocols. Try finding even a 32MB card. These run around 40USD on ebay. look up the GeForce 4 MX 4000. That's what I have and it seems to do just fine. I had a GeForce 5800 before, and WZ didn't run that much smoother on it. Anything other than on-baord should fix your problem.

Also, how much RAM are you running? 256 should do for running WZ fine, unless you're in Vista. Is WZ Vista compatible?

try playing on 2 or 4 player maps that should help.

running xp with a gig of RAM overclocked. and some 4 player maps do it too

A crappy video card can do that, low RAM doesn't help either.

Stick with 2p maps

2p maps are way too easy even with the latest become prey and super AI mods
