You might be able to port 1.10 over, but not the 2.2 branch.
In any case, the iPhone is definitely good enough to support 1.10, it's more the question of whether anyone will bother porting it. I mean, just being a developer requires paying Apple some sum of money, money most current Warzone devs don't have. Someone might do it someday, but I doubt it'll be any of us. :/

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch port?
You actually do not have to pay to get the dev kit, and the actual frameworks and APIs that the iPhone uses are very similar to that of OS X. All it would take is someone tweaking and streamlining the code a little and editing the actual APIs that read inputs so that it would support the iPhone touch interface. I can't do it, but I think there are good enough C++ programmers on this board that could do this, and quite efficiently at that. I will try to look into actual app distribution on the App Store to see what that takes t get the app onto the store. I think it can actually be done for free, but I will look to confirm that.

Nope, that's the part that involves giving Apple lots of money, even if you're just releasing your app for free.I_S wrote:I will try to look into actual app distribution on the App Store to see what that takes t get the app onto the store. Yeah, you can download the devkit for free, but unless you pay for the developer package you can't run software on the iPhone; only on a simulator on your PC, so effective performance testing out the window
also I'm pretty sure you can't distribute apps on the App Store either.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch port?
i feel i must reply to this post and possibly make another. the iphone can with out a doubt be able to handle wz2100. i have seen games that are ten times better then wz...at least graphics wise. a few examples are airmaster, f.a.s.t., RTS, hell even geoDefense. so the iphone can handle it. the only problem, that i can think of, would be porting it to the iphone. some of the code would have to be rewriten and stuff. also because its under a free licence it would have to be free in the app store. so if there are any devolpers out there willing to try go at it!!!!!!
my name is drath. i am not from this world. i am the only one of my kind. life here will get tough for you. get over it.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch port?
I know it's been awhile since anyone has posted anything on this but I think that it would be amazing if you could get wz2100 on the iPhone. It defiantly would be a huge hit on the app
store and as I understand it, it wouldn't be too hard to do
this it's just a matter of getting it done. Is there any progress with this idea yet?
