that would be of help when you are in trouble and your teammates are nice enough to actually help you and not sit their doing nothing while you die(it has happened to me several time and it pisses me off)

yeah and sometimes when your trying to build a decent looking base friendlies will show up and build a wall in your way and leave and when you call for help they
1.show up late
2.steal your oil
3.leave after building defences in the spot where you want to rebuild your factory
I get my revenge though. I encircle thier base with my walls and they cant escape HAHAHA!
