No no no no. That has no relation/association with my league. I was hosting link to show I know of it's existence. Don't fall into playing there. Bad maps, bad rules, bad site. I can't force anyone to play here, but it will improve their game faster than playing there.

Re: 1v1 League
Give it 3 more days, one whole week. If you're still only one reporting games, I may disband. Don't want to. I know there are other good players out there with the ability to learn/adapt/not cheat, they're just not coming forward.
How about this. To anyone that doesn't think they will be able to handle low resource/no base/non-teamwar, I offer my services as a coach to you. I'm not blowing smoke either, ask Devestator. I can provide helpful advice on build orders, map control, army composition, meta-game decisions, income management, general outlook on the game. All in a fun filled environment. Like I stated in OP, I wish to see more players playing at a higher level of play.
I shouldn't be able to go 23-0 over the course of 2 days. I'm not doing the same thing over and over either. I'm switching it up. Some games I make 2 factories early, other times I make 2 research labs early, some games I didn't even build a generator. Even playing "friendlier", not sending 1st tank into their base and only taking 1/2 the oil on the map. Still, alot of people are playing the same. Build a bunch of D outside their base, and leave oil unclaimed. I hear this comes from playing against the AI too much. So I thought I'd try to encourage people to player against each other under a unified game setting, hoping the turtle trend would be bent, if not broken, away from most players as they are force to think like a human again.
Here's a rule of thumb for all, and it applies to just about any RTS, if not all games. If you're not dictating the flow of the game to your opponent, you're probably losing. Some forms of dictation comes in telling your opponent what resources you're gonna let them have, where there army is going to fight, and how they have to spend their income. None of this should ever be spoken to your opponent verbally. Use pieces in the game to relay you will to your opponent. Defensive structures only really cover one of those dictations, where to fight, and kinda handles the how to spend income. A mobile standing army can do all of those forms of dictation. Also it has dynamic DPS, you can alter it's composition at any time.

Really? I haven't had the time to play in ages, and neither have I seen Weedle around. I believe Acid said he'd quit. Heck, I've only seen Dave once in the past month. For pros, it seems like it's just Ort and Tib.

Meh. I'm a developer. I'd prefer if everyone would wait until the next version, which has 70% less crashes.
That's the version I'm planning on publicizing everywhere, anyway.

Re: 1v1 League
I'm sold for life on this gem of an RTS. Everyday I've played this I've found another nuance of the meta-game. Like I always thought cannons were just something you had to research to get to mortars. I didn't know they did 120% dmg to medium structures, which just happens to be the structure type of the MG tower. So now when I see aggressive towering, I working on LC over MRP, which only does 80% to med structures.
With running this in weeks/months long rounds that reset points at the start of each new round, this can run whenever with whatever version you have available. Less crashes sounds like some ubersauce to me. Also waiting patiently for observer/replay functions. Take your time, I know this is all done in your spare.
Also, game setups are subject to change at the start of each round. Maybe next round we try Mid power/no base or low power/base settings. Still something I'm considering.

Before you badmouth my JUNK rules, read them. No MOBILE artillery. No mortars, hotitzers, ripple rockets, on tanks. You can make the emplacements and towers anywhere you want, just not on the units. Yea we were talking merger, but you keep up with dissing my site, things will change. You don't see me coming on here and badmouthing you, so I'd appreciate it if you didn't.

No, I'm not Nexus and my rules are not junk. If you want to play a REAL league where stats and ranking are saved to a database and is MUCh easier, go to www.myleague.com/warzone2100. You don't need to sign up for a premium account or anything. It's free, simple, well structured, and fun. I will talk with you later tehlo and we'll see about my junk rules. I've been revamping them and they are just fine.

And by the way, I've been playing this game for 12 years. These rules are very similar to what they were in the very beginning of the game

Hmm? What happened? Did someone delete the posts SoS was replying to? Gah, you guys, I hate that. Just edit them and replace them with "Post removed" or something. Deleting posts outright, especially if they already have replies, is extremely annoying.
No mob arty is a fine rule. We've been meaning to rebalance that, but we can accept that mob arty could be overpowered at this point.

Nah, it should be there. I never took it down. Don't feel I said anything wrong in it.Zarel wrote:Hmm? What happened? Did someone delete the posts SoS was replying to? Gah, you guys, I hate that. Isn't the best way to test for imbalance to use it and find out? If it is imba, taking away from players isn't a good answer, unless dev team has said they won't fix. If dev team is working on it, let's get them as much info on why/how it's imba by stress testing it.Zarel wrote:No mob arty is a fine rule. Sounds like you are a turtle player that doesn't want people to be able to crack your shell... This isn't even the biggest "junk" though. Build time? "No cross the middle for 20 minute plz. I noob and need time to setup mah D! Also don't want to learn oil placement on real maps, so we play on TeamWarz, ok?" ROFLMAO!!! Oh, oh, or SK-Mountain... another turtle friendly choice there.SoS-ELITE wrote:Before you badmouth my JUNK rules, read them. No MOBILE artillery. No mortars, hotitzers, ripple rockets, on tanks. Edit: Did notice you allow ANY 4 player maps. A step in the right direction, but you should narrow it down to a few good choices. 8 player maps are just too big for 1v1 games. Does this still include TeamWarz styled maps?
I know what you're gonna say too, "you can play no build time on Rush or Rush 2." Isn't that map imbalanced? Truck rushing ftw? It is impossible to have a tank out in time to fight truck rushes on Rush. The only way to fight it is to do it. That's an imbalance that lies with the map.
I'm not stopping you either. Do it, find something to badmouth. My rules might not be the most accepted, but they are the most challenging for both players. My map pool contains the most balanced maps. My reporting system of winner tells has less honesty issues than losers not owning up to their loss and winner having to speak up anyways. The best thing, I don't have to be the one to run this. Anyone can take this over at anytime. With it running in rounds that reset points at the start of each new one, players have to play to stay on top, can't camp #1.SoS-ELITE wrote:You don't see me coming on here and badmouthing you, so I'd appreciate it if you didn't.
Congrats? Times change.SoS-ELITE wrote:And by the way, I've been playing this game for 12 years. These rules are very similar to what they were in the very beginning of the game
