the problem with it is when you play other colors other then green,
Cyborg: is green for everyone

Super Cyborg crashes for other team colors

that is pretty awesome. any chance of putting a regular unit for scale?
afaik, you need to design/texture the doids 8 times, once for each team color...
or at least put 8 different color texture patches for the game to apply.

i didint get too far at all when i tried to make a mod, but i got this impression from the texture files

Proportions http://fc02.deviantart.com/fs48/f/2009/ ... APRIME.png

later if I can get this to work;
I'll try scaling it down to be in proportion with the scavenger infantry
the normal cyborg will be a little big than scavenger infantry & the Super Cyborg will be the old normal cyborg size

.. but how do I do that? O_o
P.S. I'm really really new at this, step by step instructions would be helpful

There is an aggregation of info on the following page (with links to Tuts, for one) that will be of help: http://developer.wz2100.net/wiki/PIE_models

Those bad boys you designed would be cool to play with in game. I do not like the original borg gfx and just don't look at em closely when playing.

Also - Member Black Project has done some nifty work on Cyborg Flamers and he's shared his PIE files HERE: New PIE Models for Flame-Throwers (Flamers)

Personally I find the tutorials best supplemented with looking over already modded files and comparing to the originals..

The WZ art pipeline is a bit of a PITA at this point and requires much patience and well organized work habits otherwise you will experience much more frustration than fun.

I assume your referring to the Cyborg Leg animations and / or team colors...

First I would recommend you read the PIE Specifications HERE (includes the animation specs).

I'm a True Space user myself (Google SketchUP , GIMP & PS as well) but for WZ modeling I exclusively use PIESlicer, WZ's native GFX format editor which, IMHO, is pretty easy to learn and, for me anyway, beats dealing with an other layer of complexity in the form of wonky conversion scripts-plugins from 3D apps like Blender. 'Course if you wanna make original textures you have to use a prog like Gimp or PS but then you can apply your new texture to your model in PIESlicer.

There are some excellent "PIESlicer" Tutorials HERE that will painlessly step you through the process of creating a new model for WZ. IMHO, way easier this route than doing your model in Blender or True Space and trying to convert to PIE..... but that's me..

You can download the "PIESlicer" proggy here: PIESlicer Download

Hope this is of some use.

Would that be OCX files (Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) Control Extension) ?? These are used by PieSlicer (via MS DX) for its GUI implementation. Which one is it asking for ? PICCLP32.OCX ????

There are thousands of OCX files and scores of sites where you can download them for free. A Google search will list 'em all.

I have run PieSlicer on all my comps (DTs & LTs) over the years starting from Win 95 clear through WinXP Pro without any problems - except for asking for OCX files I have readily found on line for dl..

If it's asking for something you cannot get on line let me know - I can always pack-up my working copy for you.

MSCOMCTL.OCX

or one of it's dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

if you want to mess with my design :3

PieSlicer is a Visual Basic Application that uses standard ActiveX controls which is all that MSCOMCTL.OCX is.

You can download any .OCX file here: http://www.ocxdump.com/download-ocx-fil ... nload.html

Then you just drop it in: C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder and RE-BOOT your comp..... should be good to go from there. :)

Appreciate the offer XANAX but honestly my hands are already full playing around with my "War School" map-mod and my brain literally can't handle any more active WZ work. Just last week I spent many hours working on someones mod to get it working and in the process could not do my own WZ stuff. I was not a happy camper at the end especially when I gave over the work I did to no avail or even a peep. But that last really is irrelevant - I simply just need to stay focused on what I'm already doing otherwise I won't make the kinda progress that I find enjoyable in all of this beyond simply playing the game..

psychopompos: Your issue with PIESlicer is probably of the same type... maybe your missing a different .OCX file.... just follow the same procedure... copy the missing file name that the prog tells you it needs to run.... find it for download at the link provided, etc. etc.

Hmmm.... there are a handful of folks that visit these BBs and are very good at using PIESlicer and modding and when they come across this thread and see what you've done so far may very well be inspired to jump-in and play around with your files. I won't mention them by name but it has happened that way on many an occasion - even in recent times I have seen it happen with fine results and released Mods. In fact many current major mods are aggregations of the work of many folks not just the peep who released the work as a whole. So it is quite possible that will happen with what you have been doing. The quality is there for all to see, IMHO. :)
