The latest batch of icons never made it into the tag, so I couldn't have reverted them. :P
There were some new icons I believe though, at least, they are not the same icons as we had in 2.1.x.

Hmm. Maybe I have really bad memory? Let me check the timeline.

May 31:

r7604 - I add the new icons in 2.2-branch.
r7616 - You tag 2.2.0.
r7638 - You revert warzone2100.ico in 2.2-branch because VC2005 doesn't support it.
sometime during this - I hear that warzone2100.ico has been reverted and freak out.
r7640 - I add the new icons, minus the 256x256 one VC2005 doesn't support.

Hmm. You never committed to the 2.2.0 tag, so it should still have the new Vista icons. Can someone download the 2.2.0 Windows installer and tell me if this is the case?

You know, this would be so much easier if my connection was stable enough that I could download the installer myself. :/

Neuralize wrote:Cool! I just installed version 2.2.0 and am pleased to see you included my graphics, haven't had a chance to play around with the game yet. Do you still want me to remake the icon? I didn't know you needed a 16x16 pixel tweak so I could manage that too. Of the issue concerning the ugly splash screen sceen at exit, can I remake it, or is it going to be removed.
What, mine isn't good enough? :( Fine, go make your own 16x16 version.

There was a lot of arguing over whether we should take out the exit screen. I remember it was inconclusive. I'm still in favor of removing it and having a separate credits screen. Feel free to make that screen. I believe I posted a list of what I wanted in it earlier in this thread.

I think the favicon should be different from the other logos. Right now, the 2100 bit isn't even visible. I'd say just cut out the 2100 altogether, So it just says:

Hello Warzoners,

Here's a new 16x16 for the favicon and smaller icon.

Meh, I don't really like it. There's not that much need to have "2100" be readable, and it just looks kind of... too different from the style of everything else.

Well, if you look at other sites, their smaller icons usually don't fit in exactly with the rest of their stuff.
However, I have taken another pass.

Yes, but this is a 16x16 version of the normal Warzone icon, not just the favicon. Therefore, it has to actually look like a smaller version of the Warzone icon. I think my current one still accomplishes that better than yours right now.

Well, I don't think having a different icon will cause the universe to destabilize in an inverse singularity and implode upon itself, however, if you insist.

Although at this point, I believe my original goal was to make the 2100 readable, maybe that version of the icon could be the favicon, and the current icon for the game could be the one that's already there, or the one I've just posted.

I dunno, having a different icon shape isn't that bad, but having a different style entirely is... ehh, just not a good idea.

Seriously, what's wrong with this?

Well, if you don't have a problem, and the rioting masses don't have a problem, then there is no problem.

The middle stroke of the W is two pixels, while the outer ones are one pixel. And Neuralize's looks sharper.

Middle stroke is wider in the other logos/icons, too. Consistency is a good thing.

I'll see what I can do about sharpness.

I like this one better as well... ( viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2990&start=60#p32060 )
and it ends here.
