A major bug (for me, at least.)

Post by Lando »

Okay, here's the lowdown.
I installed Warzone 2100 and double-clicked the launch icon. When the game loaded, I was surprised to see the font on the main menu was virtually unreadable. Evverything was written with squares and rectangles. And after using my epic deciphering skills to figure out which button took me to single-player mode (it was the first one), all I saw instead of a cutscene was a white background with some audio about a landing pad being cleared.

Intel Pentium III
Matrox G400 Dual-head (Don't say anything about driver updates, the card is from the late 90s.)

So... Yeah. That's pretty much it. Help is appreciated, and in return you will recieve a +4 Intelligence boost. Stay thirsty, my friends.

Yeah, um, a driver from the 1990s is not going to let you play the new version of Warzone. You'll have to make do with 1.10, my friend. :/

Or, you know, buy a new video card. You can probably get one for $30 that would run Warzone just fine.

Okay, thanks for the help. I actually do have a reasonably new computer sitting in my dad's office that he needs to transfer this computer's information over to. Any chance that an Nvidia GeForce4 MX would run the latest version?
I'll stick with 1.10 for now, but I hope to be happily gaming soon. Later.

I'll try playing it once my dad gets the computer set up.
I hope I remember to, I might get caught up playing Combat Arms.
