I'm having an issue with my custom templates

Get some help with creating maps or modding.

"They didn't exist before" in the mp.wz resources OR the a.i. .vlo or both ?? Meaning - did you create new defense structures that do not exist in mp.wz or base.wz ? (meaning, for one that you are combining .pies that do not exist as such ?) Or your templates are of existing defensive structures that the a.i. vlo is not using that you want it to use ?

- This is wrong.... an "Assault Cannon" is already defined as "VulcanCan" not a "RotCan"

* Or your: GuardTower-MG3 _("Heavy Machinegun Guard Tower")

- This already exists as: GuardTower3 _("Heavy Machinegun Tower")

* Or your: Emplacement-Howitzer105 _("Howitzer Site")

- Already exists as: Howitzer105Mk1-Pit _("Howitzer Emplacement")

And so on....

See what I mean ? Need to go back to square one I think....

Heavy Machinegun Tower - I wanted to be able to use the guard tower in the concrete form (the same tower that the Scourge Missile is on).

Howitzer Site - I wanted the Howitzer to be on the same structure as the Vindicator Missiles.

I wanted the weapons to be on different structures. I guess I forgot to tell you that.

I see... that all makes sense now. You are essentially wanting to make new .Pie combos

Could you post just the changes you made to the structures.txt file.... each line for ONLY your new defense structs (NOT the whole structures.txt...... I just wanna see what you did...... which should show how you switched up the .pies for one) ?

Quicky sample of structure changes in-game... I'll explain tomorrow 'cause, to be honest, I'm a little burnt-out on this text-editing and wanna
get back to my own stuff today. Nothing personal here, I just used to do a lot of this type editing with WZCK Utility back in the day and it was so
much more fun and lightening fast in comparison to doing it "by hand".

Erm... artillery hardpoints?

You do realize that the most important part of artillery is that they have low defense? If you mount them on hardpoints... man, the balance, it's maddening...

K.... I started from scratch by first making a copy of .mp.wz and calling it "arreonmod.wz".... then proceeded to edit

I made only 2 of your proposed new structures and got 'em in-game: the "Howitzer Site" and the "Gauss Cannon Guard Tower". (see screen cap below)

Work your way starting with names.txt...... then proceeding to structures.txt, etc to see how i did it (and keep the Wiki Text Editing page handy for ref... this is only way to learn, really - http://developer.wz2100.net/wiki/TxtEditing ).

I only made 2 because this is your mod and I have tons of my own work to stay focused on.

I made sure I saw Become Prey A.I use the "Howtizer Site" because it was declared in .vlo

However.... Become Prey has sophisticated arty scripting (.slo) which defines under what conditions it builds arty and in the game I ran though while it did build the new "Howitzer Site".... because of prevailing game conditions and the way .slo is written it built way more Hellstorms and Ground Shakers .. So what I'm saying is that even if you properly modify the structures in .vlo there is no assurance in how it will play-out in-game because that is a way more complex proposition involving the controlling .slo scripts and I would NOT recommend messing with those scripts unless you get a lot of WZ AI experience / know-how under your belt down the road..
