map tiles - change coming????????
ok - was just advised that there is a change coming to the tiling system that will efectivly put the 32 bit editworld out of service.
is this right?
and what have you done to replace the editor. if your say that random map gen thingy... not the same thing at all.
is someone doing up a proper map editor? xD if so there is a new form of the t2 map tile waiting to be brought out shortly. xD

The change disregards a lot of tiles in old maps, but overall it's still backwards-compatible with maps made in EditWorld. It just makes them look prettier, s'all.
And seriously, have you completely ignored Gerard's thread on this topic? We've been talking about this since November 2008; this isn't anything new...

Lav...your maps are done with Arizona tertiles so they'll make the transition fine. Silent Rage is working on a New Urban set that
will comply with the New Renderer, as you know, so Urban Maps will transition.. As of this moment, if my understanding is
correct, the only maps "left out in the cold",so to speak, are ones made with the stock Rock Mountain set. 'Course that
could change between now and when the new renderer becomes the defacto dev release if new RM textures are made compliant
with the new terrain render engine.

Unless I am missing something, any map made with EW32 (or any editworld) will not stop working anytime soon.
In fact, I doubt that people will be left out in the dust, even if the map file format changes. Why? It is because we would need to convert the old stuff anyway, and that means that you pretty much always will be able to create maps with EW32.
Sure, there might be a lnd2whatever converter, but, until a new map editor comes along (which will also load in the old format), the .lnd format will still linger on.
So the 3 tilesets for the campaign will also linger on.
and it ends here.

ok... yes i have been watching but not saying much due to the fact that i dont access the trunk - i tried building some time ago but gave up due to UGLY UGLY UGLY results.

i have asked in the past for some one ( anyone) to plese build for me due to the above reason. i cant do code sh*t of any sort or type. ok? capice? xD xD
as to who - an artist... apparently unhappy due to either not understamding ( a common complaint ) or being put off by conversations had with coders. do not infer anything by my statements. all i am saying is this rears its head every now and again and this is what usually comes of it. me asking what it is and then ... you see the rest above this post.
as long as i can make maps i am happiernapiginshit. yippykiyay!

Nothing, yet. Florian, author of the Diorama random map generator told me they will be working on a new map editor next. Judging by the amount of work they did in the short time they needed for the random map generator I'd say we might have something basic in 2 months.lav_coyote25 wrote:... what have you done to replace the editor.

here is a screenshot of psycho map - with WATER that actually moves somewhat differently than the original... total made me do a rub the eyes and pinch myself to make sure i wasnt dreaming...
