Seriously, I wasn't kidding when I said I thought its color scheme was perfect. In particular - the color variation.

This is closest to what I'm looking for. Further refinements:

Make the background color closer to the one I said had a perfect color scheme. ;) The texture is good, but it needs that color scheme (including the color variation).

Make the "O" and "E" (and maybe "R") less rounded - the way you did the "0"s in "2100" is what I'm thinking of.

Space the "2100" out horizontally a bit more, so it fits in with "Warzone" better. Maybe make it a bit thinner? Right now, it looks thicker than "Warzone", which gives it a weird feel.

The shiny part looks near perfect, but the light-dark-light-dark gradient looks a bit too patterned, orderly, etc, like a perfect sine wave. Maybe give it a bit more variation?

Just started a job as a graphic designer, don't have a lot of time at the moment, but I'll get back to this.

Do you have the source files (like, say, a PSD)? I'd like to give it a shot.

Well, I have a vector, which I am modifying, and then putting into photoshop for textures. The idea was once I get the texture perfect I'll really spend some time and make a high resolution one..

Eh, f**k it, how hi res is the splash screen off the pumpkin cd? I'll just cut that out.

Here's the highest quality logo available. I haven't anti-aliased the edges, so feel free.

Personally, I still like your "2100" better, but there's some sort of professional quality the original game had that yours seems like it doesn't...

This thing was ripped from the Warzone Comic on the CD, and the "2100" looks a bit too cyan...

Notice the border on "WARZONE". I think if you added that, yours might be better.

I've also attached intro1, converted from BMP to PNG (lossless). It's slightly higher resolution, but it has an ugly glow on it.

The color's better, but the texture doesn't fit nearly as well. See if you can get the texture to match the "WARZONE" text - maybe even the border, too.

Well, it's obvious that the original is a 3d render, either that or a more painfully crafted photoshop created logo, but I'm leaning toward a render.

If this does't satisfy you, I'll think about throwing it into a renderer..

Wow. That's very near perfect. At this stage, I would call it "better than the original Warzone version".

I know I'm constantly suggesting improvements, but don't take that to mean I don't appreciate your work. I think it's awesome, and I'm seriously impressed.

A few more improvements left:
- The "2100" still looks a lot more horizontally cramped than the "WARZONE" - can you stretch it out a bit more?
- It looks like you're implementing the border as a shadow. The original one used a bevel - I think it looks better as a bevel.
- I just noticed that the original one has letters that are thicker horizontally than vertically (Think "Times New Roman" 'O' instead of "Verdana" 'O'). I think that's what made it look more professional than yours. Do you think you could implement something like that?
- If we're making this a replacement for frontend0, a few pixels bigger would be nice. ;)
- One with a "Rebalance 0.5.2" badge for my mod would be pretty nice, too. ;) I've attached what I mean.

I don't like the W in warzone being divided by such a thin line. I think it looks better like on the box art, as a solid W. Of course, if this invokes rage, I can change it back...
As for the badge I'm experimenting..

Perfect - I like the solid "W" too. I'm going to commit this now, how should I credit you? "Neuralize"? Or do you want me to use your real name?

Also, can you make me a render approximately 512 pixels wide? That's how big the in-game logo is. And, the borders are apparently white instead of alpha transparent - it currently has a weird white border in-game:

One thing I noticed on all your logos: You elevate both the "Warzone" and the "2100", while the original logo had the 2100 engraved. Imo that makes the original more interesting.

And the "W" has strokes of different width, especially at the baseline (I guess that's a problem of the original logo you traced, but it looks strange).

Ah, great to hear you're fairly satisfied Zarel! Really fantastic actually. I'll address those things tomorrow evening, just got back from a concert, a little tipsy.

I was looking around, and it appears to be ambiguous whether or not the 2100 is supposed to be embossed. In some backgrounds, a shadow appears below it, indicating a bevel, in only a few other's is it embossed. Here it is at the width of 512.
How do you feel about me redesigning the splash screen that is shown when you exit the game?
