.

Attached is the original retail release box art which was also used on the cover of the Official Prima Guide - a useful reference
as it differs from what has been posted...(Especially the Pumpkin original in frontend0... which is to say Pumpkin themselves put
forth inconsistences):

Also --- to capture the "feel" of a Post-Nuke World what has been done since 1968 (first Planet of the Apes Movie) is take a world wide recognizable iconographic structure and make it look devastated. Pumpkin nicked most of their Post Nuke vision from the first Road Warrior and Terminator movies. Have you looked at the fonts used in all the advertising ?.... Maybe it's just me but when I look at the fonts I don't get a Post Nuke "feel"... What conveys that is the surrounding iconic imagery... In the case of the posted WZ Logos the iconography is somewhat abstracted and is not really identifiable with "devastation" So really there are 2 elements to be fused into a unified artistic vision going forward - font and iconography...
.

Keep in mind that frontend0 was reconstructed. Maybe the guy just missed the font on "2100"? I'd grab my copy of 1.10, but it's at home and I'm not.

Either way, I like the original box "2100" much better. Do we have any sources for the reconstructed frontend0? Why didn't we just use the original one? I'm pretty sure the license Pumpkin gave us includes the logo.

Here are the Credits BD and the WZ2120 BD I got direct from Pumpkin on a CD of stuff Alex McLean made for us back in the day.

As you can see there is still the discrepancy with the "2100"....

Personally, I too like the way the box art of "Warzone 2100" was done best.

(NOTE: The original files are higher quality than what I have posted here...)

Whoa, I like that first color scheme a lot. Put the "2100" from the box art on it, and I think it'd be good.

It appears that pumpkin had a little identity problem of their own, it's interesting the difference between the box art and the front end art.

So we like the blue futuristic stuff better than the red apocalypse on the front? You want the blue logo, but with a font that matches the letters better?

The blue futuristic stuff is better - red wasn't really used for anything other than box art.

The box art font looks nice, but if you can't get the breaks to look nice, it might be simpler just to get rid of them.

Not really trying to copy the logo exactly, but more attempting an "update". Tell me what you think..

Old one still looks better. :/ It has a more "metallic" feel, it's shinier, and it has much more detailed texture.

Oh, and stretch it vertically more, so it's slightly more like the current one.

Really? I think the old one in the splash screens looks really old and dated. I mean, with all the weird variations of the logo across their print advertising (on the box) and in the game, we have the opportunity to revamp the entire thing. Maybe I should just take that high resolution file of the splash screen and cut out that logo in photoshop and we can use that? Where would I get that file?

Oh and some more stuff I worked on, maybe for nothing ;)

I should warn you I'm a bit picky about this kind of stuff, but I think you've realized that by now. ;) Nonetheless, your work is of excellent quality.

That said, the first one doesn't have enough contrast (and I'm still liking the original one's texture a bit better), and the second one, although readable, has a really terrible shade of blue.

Yeah, it sucks, but I just wanted to get something different down, you'll never know what you'll like until you see it.

We definitely need to confront the issue of color here.. do we want the logo to be a similar hue of the interface? Wouldn't that make the most sense? Or should we go for the blues and greens of the splash? Some examples, ideas.

I really like this one. My only complaint is that the top of the uppermost letters are a bit too much faded, making them somewhat hard on the eyes. Good work! :D

Speaking of colours, I really should be putting some work on allowing people to change the game colours through a text file. I started doing that, but never finished.
