Static AA and mobile AA

Post by Timmay »

This came to my mind a few weeks ago and I’m still curious about it.

What is the better solution to defend your Base against VTOL raids?

On the one hand you have the static AA guns, which you can build easily in large numbers by pressing sh*t and draw a line of gun emplacements. To bad that you still have to research these emplacements after you researched the AA as a turret for vehicles.

On the other hand you can just mount an AA turret on a vehicle and place it next to a structure you need to defend or let it patrol. The auto repair command comes handy in here as well as the experience these units will gather. The main advantage I see is that you can easily move your AA in case that your enemy focus on a different structure or part of your base.

what do you think?

Mobile AA tanks only have a range of 8-9. AA structures have a range of 12-18. That in itself makes a pretty big difference.

Other differences: AA tanks are a bit more expensive, I think. And they have more armor/HP.
