help needed with very strange problem !

hi
i am playing a 2 player skirmish game
about an hour into the game i was messing around trying the friendly fire command
i had control of a vtol and placed the cursor over my cyborg transport
i then pressed the left alt button and the cursor changed to the attack fire cursor
then whilst holding down left alt i pressed the left mouse button
aand some thing very strange happened
i changed sides
at first i couldnt work out why the cursor kept flipping to what had been the enemy base
but i was know in control of the side the A.I had been controlling
i didnt save but closed the game
i then loaded the previous save file
but i was still in control of the wrong side
im baffled

THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!!! lol

I must find out how to do this properly , would make skimish games ALOT more intresting.

well i got back to controlling my own side eventually
i restarted the same skirmish saved it
then renamed the .gam file so it wa used by the first skirmish save
there i was back in control of my side
i tried again to swap sides
but couldnt get it to happen again

the key combination definately includes left alt and left mouse

whats odd is i didnt save after the side swap occurred but when i reloaded the save i was still in control of side 2
this must mean that the .gam file was updated without me saving

its happened again only this time mission 1 iwas playing as the scavengers but intermitantly
kept changing sides every few seconds
so there must be a cheat function to play as the other side

we must figure out this cheat code .

i would love to play as the scavangers in the first missions

I think that there is a cheat code called demo. It jumps from one team to the next and you sit back and watch and see how the A.I. works. The thing is, if you start controling the other players, the A.I. will shut down and stop playing. It will build no more units or do any more research.

It has been some years and I dont remember much but I remember doing that, I just dont remember how.

when your in the cheat menu ctrl O control oh you will see numbers 0 to 7 amongst other items... guess what?? xD xD xD

The problem is that you can't win! If you win, u loose! O_O

I mean, if you succesfully destroy the Project base & units you get game over, if you're on the campaign.


In Skirmish games you could put yourself against enemy CPUs at higest AI and let one at the lowest, then after the game starts you change to that team. Then you would have some "manager", the AI would assign idle facilities or trucks to work without orders
Should be helpful for new gamers to get used to skirmish

control o while cheaats are on opens up a menu that allows you to place or delete units/ structures/ obkjects ( incl oil rescources ) on the map
side 7 is the skavengers, you make huge scavenger bases and so on, or new paradigm, add vtol factories to both sides and so on, fantastic
