2.2 beta 1 Campaign mods

2.2 beta 1 Campaign mods

Hello community.

I'm a long time player of this game since around 99' (the playstation version) and now i play it on PC thanks to you all.

I love this game! I recently discovered this project after not playing this game for a few years, and boy... did it bring back nostalgic memories... I don't want to annoy you with thanks, i'm sure you've had your fill of thank yous over the years, but from a fan... thank you for what your doing.

On to business. on the 2.2 beta 1 version how would one modify things like the weight capacity/speed/armor of propulsion/bodies? I know on version 2.1.3 it's the warzone.wz file, and in 2.2 it's the base.wz file. I tried changing a few parameter's and the only thing that happens is the name changes but not the stats.

How would I do this?

(I want to adjust the base performance of gears to make the campaigns harder to train myself back into shape FYI)

Why did we rename warzone.wz? <_< >_>

Which parameters did you change, and why didn't it work?

Sorry for the delayed reply.

I edited the propulsion and body text files under the stats folder. After that didn't work, just to make sure the base.wz file was correct I changed the names in the names.txt under messages/strings folder. That worked correctly, but just not the edits to the bodies/propulsion. =(

Is the game reading that information from another location instead of those particular text files?

Remember, the stats files in base.wz affect campaign only, and the stats files in mp.wz affect skirmish/multiplayer only.

Otherwise, it looks like you're doing things correctly. Make sure you're editing the right columns.
