Re: Sound bug , not fixed
It should be fixed in both 2.1.3 & 2.2b1, as well as in TRUNK.
I hate to say this... but its not Warzone... its your PC/MAC/LT/NB whatever...
(or not, ignore me)

You have a very great audio card manufacturer. I wouldn't really see a problem with the card.
If you further want more details on your sound:
1. click start.
2. go to "run".
3. type in "dxdiag.exe" (no quotes)
4 click okay if prompted to and then go to the sound tab, tell the version and that can help me solve the problem, (or not).

One thing I have found that may help with OpenAL is to put something like this in the configuration file:
(define devices '(alsa native arts esd null))
(define alsa-device "default")
(define speaker-num 2)
(define sampling-rate 22050)
- Basically, cut your sampling rate in half - that sometimes helps. I am having the same problem and just changed my file. Some people just walked in the door, so I will have to try it later for sure on my computer. just a suggestion.

i thought that the reason for me was switching openal device to pulseaudio (via alsa-plugin)
not only PAUSE works =) you can also go to intelligence screen =)

Re: Sound bug , not fixed
I reread your post - I think you are on windows. In Linux, it is a ~/.openalrc, but Windows you may have to do some digging. I would suggest either asking around here if anyone knows or check the openAL website. Sorry, I know that probably isn't the answer you wanted - and I know how frustrating it can get when all you want to do is blow stuff up....

Sadly, I put those configurations in my own files with no luck - so I am having the sound problem on Linux
Anyone else have ideas?

Re: Sound bug , not fixed
Guess what? I exchanged my computer 3 days ago for a stronger one, BUT this new one has only an integrated soundcard on the motherboard (for now), which brings me to the (basicly) same problem as DarkCheetah's, only that mine is a bit worse:
The sound crackles from the instant i enter the game and doesn't stop - it didn't do that before even though i had only a crappy soundcard installed
; also eversince this crackling apeared, i get a game crash with no warning at some points (most notably somewhere during the tutorial
)
I have tried to install 2.1.3 without the AL libraries, to no avail - crackling stays.
EDIT: I have just bought myself a new 5.1 sound card from Genius... I sure hope it will get rid of the crackling bug... I'll let you know

Re: Sound bug , not fixed
Ok, bad news: even though i have put a brand new genius sound card with the latest drivers in to my machine, the crackling still stays, haven't tried it out for any possible crashes yet (i'll let you know when i do). Also no change without AL libraries, like before... I don't know my last (crappy) soundcard's type but if anyone thinks it might be of any use, i can look it up and post it here.
; luckily my video card survived all the raids intact xD But this is intriguing... must be the source of the problem
Hehe, off-topic: I played a lot of WoW before tooDarkCheetah wrote:OFF-Topic news: same with my video card that crashes my whole pc when playing WoW (even WoW runs good, but suddenly crash 0.o)
