I have what must be a newbie question, where do I get any of the AIs? I am using the mac version, I can find the default skirmish files, but could find any of the AI files. I don't think they are included and I have to download them?

google for "Warzone 2100 Starter" and if u have the original warzone , then locate ur .exe and change some of the AI's then open skirmish folder, there u find the edited slo/vlo files , open them with TXT reading program , and u got the whole script there

your usual one so you never have to change it back if you just wanna play
all stock or with current Aivolution...

- There are other WZ A.I.'s that do NOT work right out of the box and require
some work to make compatible and those are:

- "H20 aka Water" A.I. by Prometheus - Tough A.I. that can deal very effectively with any maps -
including, obviously, predominantly water maps I also made a map with 1-Tile wide ramps and
ridges all over and "H20" handled it like a champ whereas other A.I.s could not at all... I would guess
it could handle "Tunnel" maps way, way, better than any other WZ A.I.....

- "A.I. Boost" by Speedy.... this one has so much going on I'm honestly too lazy to list it all.

- "Genghis Khan" A.I. by Troman.... very aggressive with varied offense that are definitely not boring IMHO.

- Original "Aivolution" by Troman with Tank Transport drops and other neat features. IMHO this
first incarnation kicks the current version's butt - seriously. It does not talk smack at you but I could give a chit
about that feature.

- My understanding is that Bug is working on making the latest version of NiKer's "Become Prey" compatible with
the DEBUG binary. .... but has had to focus on RL stuff so that's why it's taken a awhile...

I couldn't have said it better myself.

My priority of fixing things is moving around. Currently working on networking & LUA, and other things that pop up.
That is also why I am not posting in these forums as much as I have done before. It just takes up too much time that I think can be used better elsewhere.

As whippersnapper said, if you want to play with different AIs, then do so using 'release' builds, not debug builds.
Yes, there are bugs in the AI scripts, but for the most part, people will not notice them.

There is also GK AI that is in the NTW mod. I don't really understand why we don't separate the AI out of that, and offer it as a mod.
People could then play with GK, or AIV, or default, or BP or...

That said, I will get back to fixing the BP issues eventually, when the current work load dies down. :ninja:

can't u just browse with "winrar" into the NTW mod and extract the scripts out of it?
... where did all the good ol classic ai's gone to? Turtle AI , Super AI

I could never get AIV working anyway. I had to actually EDIT the mod MYSELF with some knowledge and looking for coincidences to get it working. Even so, the AI (after about 20 minutes) stopped attacking and made hundreds of VTOLs that slowed the game to a crawl.

I would love some better AI than this version of AIVolution.

Just my two cents.

Side-Note: All these different comments about Aivolution's sub-par performance over the months make me think it's not functioning as Troman intended for some reason. I play the original Aivolution with Tank Transport Drops. Never got into the current version because that was taken out and I really like it a lot so I just stuck with the first release of the a.i. which definitely kicks ass.

so u said some ai's use more then scripts? then i am probally missing those files...

and cool about the orginal aiv that drops tanks with transport! must be a challenge ,

and i like warfare mod , but that ai should be seperated also so u can still play original wz 2100 with a enjoyable ai

Hej,

I have a problem with the startet.. It worked the first time i played.. I played 2.1.3 with the Ai's that Whipper said would work.. They did.. :)

But now it wont start, i get the error message:

Error:
0:
Error in: makeSLOVlO (10)

After i press OK first time, they just keep turning up, with the only change that the number 10 is replaced by 17.. :scream:

Anyone familiar with this issue?

Hmmm.... not familiar with that error message.. sorry.... BUT....

Well, yeah.. But not challenging enough.. I keep winning after i researched Heave cannon on a water map... :rolleyes: (joke, but its not good on water. Thats why i want more than 1 ''different'' AI... )

Can the problem be with the Become Prey Ai' mod that i have put on Autoload..
Gonna Test it:D

Edit-------------------

To fix Either: (one of them works)

1)Remove the Become Prey from autoload

2)Go in program files, delete the map Warzone starter 2.0. Then go to the Install and uinstall programs and uinstall it from there. Then install Warzone starter again and Bingo :D

What water map are you talking about ? I played Become Prey on the "Fish Nets" map and it played great. 1 v 3 you don't
have much of a chance. 2 v 2, maybe, if you're at least a good player.

If your talking predominately Island Maps... well then I'd agree there is but one a.i. better than BP on Island Maps and
that would be "H2O A.I." but you cannot play that on the WRP binary - only v.1.10 using WZS because it is NOT compatible
with most other a.i.s... It's scripts + a resource .wdg and, btw, it also cheats.

The turtle Ai i think is good on water. Its defense goes into the little half-land with oil on the other side. There i cannot take the oil from them because of artillery :-S

No not fishnet, (great map tho' :) ) The lake- 4 player map.. Lots of oil. ( my turtle Ai got some water scrips i got from a friend ) So it makes watertrucks :stressed: :ninja:

Cool.. the key for any A.I. to deal effectively with Island Maps and pose a respectable challenge is to make Hover Trucks... as soon as possible. Troman gave permission 2 years ago that legally gives peeps the right to mod and re-publish his A.I.'s including "The Turtle".... you should consider posting the "Modified Turtle".
