I just started playing warzone not to long ago, and I really enjoy it.
I am currently running 2.1.2 compiled from source on linux, and have had only a few problems getting it to run (all of which I fixed).
What I wanted to know (based on the recommendation of the linux compile guide) is the SVN a better version to use or should I just stick with the main releases (currently 2.1.2)?
Latest SVN or 2.1.2?

Depends on what you want to do. If it is play, 2.1.2 is probably the most stable version still.

The Trunk version is the lastest code but is also more unstable.
if you want to try out "what's coming" like the new terrain render you'll want to get the trunk but keep in mind it will be more likely to crash or break.
Personally, I currently only compile from the Trunk and most of my crashes have been related to a buggy map that I added in.

I dunno. With the network fix, I'd argue trunk is currently more stable than 2.1.2.

ok thanks I tried installing the SVN and can't even get a game started(the game locks up as the map is loading), so I'll just stick with 2.1.2

um I just stated a new single player scrimmage with the default 4 player rush map (the one that comes pre installed). I think the only mod I had turned on was grim's graphics update.

The Trunk only has ntw.wz and aivolution.wz
I thinking you had some leftoers when you were trying out the trunk.
Could you trying the trunk again but make sure you remove /usr/local/share/warzone2100 ( or where ever you install it to ) and not over write it and rename or remove any .warzone... folders from your profile before you run it. basicly a clean install and run with no mods / no cheats.
