What is the best time/way to find someone to play with online?
I've almost never seen anyone when I check lobby, but then again I don't wait around too long before going on to skirmish.
I saw a game ONCE, but I was on my modded version, so I quit real fast and loaded the standard version, and it was gone- they had already started.
A long long time ago, before the source code release, I played 1 MP game, and got truck rushed.... and lost very quickly.
Im interested in playing multiplayer now, who is out there?

Re: Multiplayer?
Argh, 3 games, 2 *wins
* the last win was not a definite win, as it crashed
It was 3v4v1, I was on the 3 side, the 1 was someone who didnt know wtf they were doing - I'll ignore him and say it was a 3 v 4.
I managed to take out Mysteryem , I fought him with trucks building structures over 1 oil well, and moved to secure the next platform - it was on sand castles
any way, I stuble upon his base, walled off, but no defenses behind his wall, I set up several mortar pits and a sensor, and commence bombardment, I take out his HQ, a cyborg factory, 2 research facilities, and some units before I my sensor range limits me (might get another structure with a sensor tower in front of his wall), I build 2 Cobra HfTX medium cannons back at my main base, and setup a new factory right outside his base, and build another 2 cobra tanks, and another 2 python medium cannon trax as they become available, I take down a section of the wall and charge in, I am met by vipers firing mini pods, and loose a corba tank or two, and take heavy damage to 2 others, but they survive. I then trash his base as heavy cannon research completes.
At his other base entrance a lone truck sits on the other side of a wall and some MG towers (behind the wall as my tanks see it), it manages to get up 2 mortar pits, my 8 trucks quickly set up 3 bombars and a CB, the truck and its 2 pits are destroyed, I build and upgrade a power gen, and as it finished the wells have just stopped burning, and I cap them.
It is now 3v3, and we have the oil advantage, my allies have set up VTOL factories and are prepping to commence attacks, I start prepping to take over the main research with my new spoils of oil, and hunt down any oil rigs that Mysteryem might have (looking northward, us three started at the south) before his allies get them.
I had mainly researched cannon and mortar techs- my allies were on top of research and power techs (i would have researched them if my allies werent).
I would continue to howitzers, or if my allies were hurting for power, go to the power and research techs.
I also wanted to set up a VTOL base of my own.
I wanted to find that 1 solo guy, and send my tanks after him if he was close, or get cyb transports and drop in some heavy gunners - based on his questions he was asking, he didn't have anything even built in his base - it might as well have been free oil to whoever found him first- and judging by the presence of a truck by his name when I pushed numpad enter, no one had found him yet - our VTOLs surely would!
oh all the stuff I was going to do.
But right after I capped mysterys' oil, the game crashed on me
Mysteryem complained of sync issues, "units randomly blowing up and stuff", My reply was I was shelling his base
Of course, on the 2v2 I played before that, My sensor vehicles blew up several times with no GFX showing what hit them. I saw some mortar fire smoke trails but no explosion once, so I sort of know what he was talking about, it may have been visually harder for him to realize he was being shelled, but I don't think it would have mattered for Mysteryem once I got my sensor up with the mortars already in place. (on that 2v2, I was using a sensor vehicle and vipers with mortars for CB purposes, as I cant target the pits with structures, and didnt have CB yet) - I won the arty battle but lost the war when the person I was shelling came in amphibiously with python hovers (it was the fishingnets map) and wiped my base.
My ally (on the opposite corner of the map) didn't research any power upgrades, or research, or mortars upgrades, but he sure was happy to spam mortars along his front line, then his opponent set up some mortar pits on the central island, and shelled his main base. He set up a base on the higher ground, but only controlled 2 wells (loosing the 4 in his main base), and had a front line with dense mortar fields - like a 3x4 solid rectangle- the nanother 3x3, and some scattered pits, splash damage would fck it up if he encountered CB fire, and it represented a lot of resources tied up with no possible offensive value.
Oh well, he said he was a noob too, we were outclassed.
I wasn't familiar with the map, and lost the race to one of "my oil wells" IE a well closer to me than my main opponent, and was thus cut off from the middle island, I reclaimed the well, but shortly thereafter I lost when my main opponent attacked amphibiously
I quit before I saw my ally get defeated- I watched a while and saw the do a full frontal attack against the ridiculous mortar concentration, they quickly broke off the attack, and I assume an amphibious attack would follow, his main base having already been cleared by shelling, they needed only to go up the ramp to his single factory, HQ, research facility, and power generator, which could be destroyed without coming into mortar range (but if they closed to 0 distance, they would take mortar fire), they could also go after the mortar pits directly this way, without hardpoints in the way, or toy with him and tech to howitzers, I didn't stay, it was 20+ well to 2, 2 hover tank groups, to no mobile units.
