Post by devastator »

What about VODs?I can easily make videos of WZ games. All i need is an oponent with his unique strategy.Videos can teach noobs and can show interesting battles and different strategies.I made some videos, but they were not interesting.I can save 1x1 and 2x2 games.So...who can be my oponent?

I had a great game with Acidjnk on UrbanChasm, T1 No Bases, with Rebalance (0.2.3, I think it was?).

I start out at the top left, he starts out at the bottom right. I'd never played UrbanChasm, so I was disoriented for a while, and so I hadn't even gotten very far before he truck-rushed me. I sent two or three trucks out to claim oil while I dealt with the truck rush.

Pretty soon, I had lost a ton of structures to the truck rush, but I had most of the derricks in the middle. So I just truck rushed his base. About six minutes into the game, we had already switched places.

Soon, he started throwing flamer cyborgs at me. I already had tons of MG towers scattered around the map from the early-game truck rush, so I had decent anti-cyborg defenses, but he had a sizable enough army that they overran many of my middle derricks. Then they got to my base.

It had tons of MG towers from the early game truck rush, so he couldn't get too close. He just attacked some structures on the fringes. While he was doing that, I snuck some trucks out and rebuilt my derricks and more MG towers.

Meanwhile, I started sending HMG Viper HT at his cyborgs to hit-and-run, which was fairly successful. It was nothing significant, I only had 3 or 4 of them. Once he had lost ~4 of his ~20 flamer cyborg army, he started retreating. Of course, "retreating" meant he noticed I had rebuilt my derricks, and promptly overran them again. Apparently 3-5 MG towers are not a good match for what must have been 30 flamer cyborgs at this point.

Also complicating the issue was that he had started to build mortars in my direction. This made it much harder to retake my middle oil derricks (UrbanChasm is a pretty small map), although I did manage to take some of the ones nearer the edge. I held the top right and bottom left derricks for a pretty long time. So I started hit-and-running with my slightly more sizable HMG Cobra HTs. We went through several cycles of: I attack his mortars, he sends flamer cyborgs at me, I retreat, he retreats because his cyborgs are taking heavy damage from the MGs, I attack again.

Meanwhile, I had built up a decent army of Assault Gun Scorp Tracks, which I sent at him. This is when I learned he had Ripple Rockets. I was planning on sweeping through a lot of his mortars, but it turned out to be more of the earlier give-and-take cycle. His flamer cyborgs were getting destroyed a lot faster, though (Assault Gun is ridiculously good anti-cyborg), so he couldn't keep up, and I eventually overran him.

I still think that was the best game I ever played.
