Because the staff have their own FAQ and questions list that dosen't quite fit my type of gameplay questions, I might as well start a new forum.
These questions could range from "I wonder", "Could this work?", "I have a question that needs answering, but people think it's silly", or "I need strategy tips"
We could help each other out (but I think the staff are busy enough)
Please keep the questions Warzone related.

My first few questions
1: Since the Wide Spectrum Tower combines all 4 types of sensors, is there a penalty on sensor range and power?
2: Since the game allows units to be assigned to the Satellite Uplink Centre, why don't the assigned units attack at maximum range?
3: Any tips for defense against VTOLS?

The Warzone 2100 Guide has the answer to many of your questions.Arreon wrote:1: Since the Wide Spectrum Tower combines all 4 types of sensors, is there a penalty on sensor range and power?

3: Any tips for defense against VTOLS?
1. Warzone 2100 Guide: Turrets points out:
Wide Spectrum Sensor has a range of 17.7 tiles - longer than any other sensor. So there's no range penalty. And sensors don't really have any sort of "power" rating other than their range.
2. Assigning units to the Satellite Uplink Center is not recommended. The Uplink Center reveals the whole map, but its sensor range is not the whole map - it's just a 16 tile Super Sensor (identical to a Wide Spectrum Sensor, but with shorter range). This is why Wide Spectrum Sensor Towers are still necessary even if you have an Uplink Center.
3. Anti-air? SAMs like the Avenger and Vindicator work especially well against heavily armored ones, and Whirlwind and Stormbringer aren't bad against lightly armored ones. Some players have been having trouble with flak AA, but it still works somewhat well.

Thanks for clearing that up
There will probably be more questions to come.

Re: Thanks for clearing that up
By the way, it's usually not a good idea to put required information in a subject line (in any medium, be it e-mail, Usenet, or a forum). The convention is that the subject line should be a summary of the post contents - the post should still be perfectly readable without the subject.Arreon wrote:Subject: Thanks for clearing that up
