Windowed? [locked and formerly stickied - see Lav's posts]
Is there a windowed mode option for warzone? I can't seem to find it.

Re: Windowed?
Isn't there a "Windowed" mode option in Options -> Video Options? No need to drop down to the command line.

every single time I launch WZ if my prefered vid mode is windowed or whatever..... OH wait, duh... that's moronic,
lame, thinking on my part, sorry - not.

no need to make a comment here. as you see it only made things worse.

And the setting in Video Options is saved in config, so you only need to set it once, too. And the putting it in a commandline shortcut has the problem that if you ever want to change it in Video Options, you won't be able to since the commandline overrides it.
And the "complete" reference doesn't even have the menu way of doing it, either. :/ It's just bad form to tell a user to use the command line when there are easier ways to do it. <--- the more info the user has is better than no information at all.

that CANNOT be done with the in-game menu like setting exact view ports, cheats/debug, playing with all the mods
scattered all over the bb,etc. etc. So it is in fact a very good idea to learn how command line works otherwise none of
those other options (combined with vid prefs) of experience will be available.

(BTW - Making more than 1 shortcut is also possible, convenient, and easy as eating sweet potato pie topped with real whipped cream.)

said, and said in good form (like in simple courtesy), they say jack chit. Go figure - maybe 20 out of 1600 + utter anything.... why is that ?
Think about that when you invoke "good form"....

Re: Windowed?
Emphasis on "when there are easier ways to do it." By now, very few things need commandline - mods/global/autoload/ works for mods, cheats are meant to be a debugging feature (they are pretty unstable, after all), and I don't even know what you mean by exact viewports (if you mean windowedness and resolution can both be set with the Video menu).Moro_Nick wrote: -- I guess command line is also bad form when you wanna do all the things 99.9% of people end up wanting to do that CANNOT be done with the in-game menu like setting exact view ports, cheats/debug, playing with all the mods scattered all over the bb,etc. etc.
I mean, commandline doesn't have all that many useful options - keyboard settings have to be set in-game, and colored cursors. The only command line options that can't be set anywhere else are mostly debugging features, and --shadows, which most users won't care about. I don't think those qualify as things 99.9% of users want to do.
I think this is some sort of vague attack at me, but I'm not entirely sure. If you wish to criticize me, by all means, do so, but I can't figure out what I'm being accused of, so I'll wait for you to be more specific before I can respond.Moro_Nick wrote:(Ranting)
thing is - if i was to accept at face value the information given - i would be more than willing to take both as valid...thing is many havent the time in on the game such as you two have.

leave it the way i had it.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! reason should be self evident.
do not tamper with please.
this is to be a teaching tool. not just for those mentioned but for all.
you see i do not discriminate when it comes to pointing out what should and should not be done on forums.
at times persons forget - this will hopefully remind all .
thanks.

The title is 100% misleading, and perhaps the parts where the thread starts to take a turn for the worse should be split off.lav_coyote25 wrote:leave it the way i had it.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! reason should be self evident.do not tamper with please.

thanks.
I would make a new topic, and put it in OT, since that is what this is. Change the title to read something like 'How NOT to act in a forum' or something.
I have seen no other forum in that would *ever* do this. At least, not like this.
They got 'rule' stickies, and you could point to part of this thread, but that is about it.
and it ends here.

The title is 100% misleading, <------ nope...was the title used by originator.
and perhaps the parts where the thread starts to take a turn for the worse should be split off. <--------- again nope or the full accounting isnt there.

I have seen no other forum in that would *ever* do this. At least, not like this. <--- thats possible - here we try to head off flame/bearbaiting asap. as for other sites doing or not doing.... thats them and this is us - we try harder.

Re: Windowed? locked and stickied - see Lav's posts
Normally, I wouldn't do anything (I generally prefer staying neutral), but people on IRC are complaining. Many people are telling me this topic shouldn't be stickied, and since it's locked, people can't give feedback. Many are saying it's silly and counterproductive.
And honestly, I agree with them. I don't think it's productive to do something like this. You can sticky a separate rules thread in which you say "No bear baiting."
Since Buginator (another developer) and multiple users agree that this should be unstickied, I'm tentatively unstickying it.
(By the way, when Buginator said "OT", he meant "Off Topic", aka "Lounge")
