Can't get maps to work

Forgive my noobness, or rustiness... But I finally redownloaded warzone again as well as resurrection v2.1. I downloaded one of the old maps from when I played on gamespy. I unzipped it and put the wdg file right into the wz main directory for both games. But it won't come up when I try to start a game. I haven't played in about 4 years I forget how the hell to do this. help?

the use of wdg ended. what map are you trying to use. most have been updated to the new format. and welcome back.

ohhhh I'm stuck in the stone age. I was trying to play Ultimate Power, the 8 player map with the million oils and possibly 7 research centers... maybe? Any links to a place to download maps?

ty, i got it working. Do people still play wz online? if so where, and what version is usually used?

some say trying xfire - there is a thread here on the forums.... myself perfers the hamachi (tunnels through firewalls and nat routers). and the game is the latest release.

not sure if gayspy turffed the old online game at the same time it turffed the old original warzone 2100 forums site.... tell you the truth though - the new release is better due to it NOT being associated with youknowwho.
