Re: What i'm listening to
listening to the always present 24/7 tinnitus...
Tinnitus is the medical name used to describe ringing noises in the ears.
Known causes
Whilst there are no known causes for tinnitus, there are many factors that have been associated with tinnitus including headaches, emotional tension, anxiety, high blood pressure, anaemia, catarrh, sinus congestion and fatigue. However, as yet there are no known effective medical treatments for this problem.
Although research suggests that lack of sleep and headaches are common related symptoms which may affect the frequency and degree of tinnitus, all cases of tinnitus tend to vary according to the individual; some people suffer only in one ear, others in both. Some people experience a mild ringing noise, whereas others are troubled by loud, high pitched noises. Even diet has been associated with tinnitus and there are numerous alternatives available for the tinnitus sufferer to explore.
also has been said that very loud, prolonged sound ( music , jack hammers, jet aircraft etc...) is blamed for this as well .

Re: What i'm listening to
I think I have it too, even if it's not been diagnosed by a doctor. I noticed it a pair of weeks ago, after I heard of it for the first time. I can hear some noise in my ears only in a very quiet place, like in my room at night, with no noise at all. Is that the same for you?Tinnitus
(yeah, I enjoy listening to music with earphones and high volume.)

Einstürzende Neuabauten - Ende Neu
I only have occasional short tinnitus type bursts, which I suppose are entirely normal, at least since I've had them a couple of times a week as long as I can remember.
It's a high pitched tone fading in and then staying there, pretty loud but not so loud that it drowns out any other sounds, for 5 or 10 minutes and then slowly fades away again.

Re: What i'm listening to
well apparently - at least according to the sites i have found - the sounds can be anythiing from a bell tinkling sound to the sound of a very large waterfall.
mine is like listening to white noise - to see what that is like - use a am radio turned to no station - and turn it fairly loud...its a rushing shhhhhhhhhhhhhh sound - and it gets louder as the day goes by or the stress level goes up... very annoying especially when i ask the wife what she said and she looks at me as if i am nuts as she hadnt said anything.
and my tinnitus was caused - as far as i know by a combination of ear infections (right ear only) and loud music... so there it is - loud music will damage your hearing - same as the blasts from 155 mm howitzers at close range firing and even worse on the receiving end if ya catches the drift. xD

Re: What i'm listening to
Mine is more like a continuous sound, but fortunately i can't hear it until the place i'm in is completely quiet, and its volume isn't so high.
Ok then, if tinnitus can be so annoying (like you can hear it all day, and make your hearing worse) I guess i'm gonna use speakers some more instead of earphones, at least when i'm home. xD
Thanks for the infos, lav
[Also, back to topic, i switched to Vex Red's first and only album - Start With A Strong And Persistent Desire]

Re: What i'm listening to
I'm listening to Andrés Segovia, but fifteen minutes ago it was Rage Against the Machine. Before that, I've listened to a bit of Shadow of the Colossus soundtrack by Kow Otani, and before that, Crystal Method. Almost picked Korn then
Hahaha, I know that's VERY diverse
But I like music made with carefulness - fits all those artists I've mentioned - , I'm not bound to any style very much.
