Allright! I just got the APHEDS cannon rounds... yaay?

So I click into the info menu and see that APHEDS stands for Armor Percing High Explosive Discarding Sabot. And my cannon damage is increased.

yay. Just the thing I wanted to know.

So my suggestion is this:

Add an extra line in the info menu that tells me that my cannons now does 5 more damage, and a listing in the weapon info that tells me the effectivness modifyers. - What is the best weapon to use agains Mech's? medium cannon or lancers?

Sure - all this info is somewhere on the net, but it would be really usefull to have that info in-game.

This is also something the entire community can contribute with. Only one dev need to actully place the info into the code. If someone can implement it I (or someone else) can write the lines - you just have to copy and paste into the code.
I can think of one headache though: you want that info to stay put - not dissapear after the first click as it does now.

And if someone else also want additional info in the info menu they can start writing here also. I am moving in 4 days, so I really dont have the time untill.. well.. 2-3 weeks. So i hope that someone picks up on this and beat me to it ;)

you mean something such as this... but for in game..??

it was discussed at one time and i believe it was agreed that there was way too much info to have it  ingame accessible

i also have it in a desktop configuration with full graphics tech tree - as a windows help file .CHM file at about 45 mb... which if uncompressed is about 69 mb on disk.

Indeed - and a bit more!

It is allot of info - but only a few lines per item - so you are not exactly drowning in it...

I guess the biggest problem is the GUI code - currently it's quite difficult to add/modify any GUI elements. With a new GUI system showing the info should be quite easy.
We want information... information... information.

Actually I had that idea a loooong time ago. (Was it 2 years from now?)
I wasn't even nearly involved with the project at that time and only offered some suggestions...
When I have some more experience with Lua and how to structure data with it, I wanted to see if I can setup some GUI code, which is more flexible...

* OH my Lord, that would be a 7-year dream come true !

* Everything I want to see / do Mod-wise in WZ involves GUI changes / new builds.... No way around it.

* BTW.... Between WZ v.1.04 & v.1.05 (approx 3-weeks) Pumpkin's Alex Lee made & introduced the brand new (back then) handicaping A.I. Schema - including the whole new GUI to go with it.... I wish I had asked him back then HOW hard that was.... But then again if I'd known the dream might have withered on the vine long ago.

I agree... There is a lot of tech in warzone, it takes a very long time before you actually know the tech tree. For example the cannon: how many cannon upgrades are there? When I research one of this updates, I know it's 'something to make my cannon better' and that's all. But at least we have the small icons indicating what the upgrade is about (firepower, targetting, reloading). There's no numbers there however.
