Yes but you can't legally market a product on those systems without a license to do so, and that effectively shuts out projects like this one. :(

I love the Idea, but Chojun is right - it's illegally.
Or are we both wrong? I heard someday something about, that Sony and/or Nintendo implemented itself the Possibility to homebrew O_o

* They don't do it legally. The homebrews are straight up piracy. You need to do your homework on the PSP/Sony anti-piracy
strategy-policies which are entirely focused tactically in prevention methods other than legal shutdowns of hacker efforts.

It's more grey, really. It depends on how much you believe in EULAs. And it's really only illegal in the US, where the DMCA was passed. I mean, if you own a copy of the original game, there's nothing morally wrong with making it play on a PSP.

----- The point is you have to hack the PSP in order to make these games and make 'em workable and Sony is not at all supportive of the PSP itself being hacked... in fact they go through great measures to prevent - like their long standing tac of continuous incremental firmware updates.... some other stuff as well... incl major deterrents in the forthcoming PSP 3000.... Which will likely not succeed in preventing the Spaniard Dark Alex from hacking yet again. I doubt the WRP would wanna endorse any of this but I could be wrong. Legal "gray-issues" are settled in court which costs money and Sony has chosen to invest that money in deterrents instead.

* Let's take this a step further. This all about "Property Rights" and the "Rule of Law"...

* At heart it's to prevent the Wild West "might is right" rough justice like the following scenario..

* I create a piece of hand carved furniture that I consider a work of art and place a picture of it on the net.

* Joe Shmoe from Kalamizoo sees the pic and comes to my house...

* I answer the door and Joe Shmoe says:

* "Hey.. I want that piece of furniture you posted on the net.."

* "Well dude I have not set a price on it yet.."

* "No, no.. I don't wanna buy it but I want it. I want it for free so I can paint it and do other chit to it.."

* "Uh dude, are you frackin crazy ? I'm not just gonna give it to you.."

" " I'll just take it then and do whatever the frack I want to it.. !!!"

* "Ok then, here's the deal... one of us is gonna leave these premisses on a gurney, either to the ER or Morgue
at the local hospital. Your move..."

See, the problem with this idea is the same problem with other analogies involving intellectual property.

It's your PSP. Putting a game on it doesn't hurt Sony at all. It doesn't even hurt their sales, since there's one more reason to buy a PSP.

well it looks like the psp out of the question but not much mention on the ds which might actually be more suitable to play unless the hardware is too weak

Actually, to correct your analogy, a PSP is a piece of hardware, comparable to said chair. The scenario is more akin to you selling the chair to Joe Schmoe, but forcing him into a contract where he can only paint the chair with paints he buys from you. Should it just so happen that he already owns some paint, or perhaps wants a hue which you don't happen to supply, then you reserve the right to terminate his license to use the chair - though you'd never seek to exercise this right, as the chances of it holding up in court are less than stellar.

That depends.
Sony & Nintendo get a kickback on every game sold, so the suits would argue that they are losing $$$ because your not buying a game that gives them a kickback on the subsidized hardware your using.
