Building limiting
Although the building limitation for single player skirmish or multiplayer. I think that it should be enabled somehow, as well as a new option to limit research (although would be complicated) so that instead it would be organized into weapon categories in which you could sort. This would all allow for a slightly different kind of battle, such as fights limited to weaker weapons and technology or no VTOL games (not saying theres anything wrong with VTOLs X3)
And please don't respond by saying that i should play scenario if i want that.... because i did....5 times... (not exactly an epic battle if you only have an hour to build up a base, research, and build units to take over)

but... there's a way to limit buildings in the create game menu. Maybe you just dont see it... Search better

in my version it's still a bug but i'm not sure how old my wz2100 is... it comes with the ubuntu repos...

Am I right?
If that's the idea, it would be very, very nice. We could get large battles where we could know what kind of opposition to expect, and the enemy wouldn't have HPV cannons researched while you charge him having focused power on building 15 Medium cannon cobra half-tracks and 10 Mini-rocket cobra wheels instead of researching.
I think it's a bit random when to attack and when to stop researching in the current state of the game.

While it should be possible to limit research, I don't see anything wrong with the current state. It's rather nice that if you charge with 15 medium cannons, you could be greeted with either 15 medium cannons or 3 HPVs, depending on how much your opponent focused on researching. The comment on the possibility of a new feature was only an offhand comment. My main point was that it was a legitimate and playable game mechanic that someone could rush (make a bunch of tanks) or turtle (focus on research), both of which would be possible to win with.

This topic if for discussion of a possible extra feature that would activate some screen pretty much like the structure limits' one, but with research. FishFish must be thinking of something like "Anti-tank missiles" on the place of, let's say, "Vtol rearm pad"'s place. Then the meter wouldn't show how many can be built, but something like
"None < lancer < tank killer < scourge"
for cannons,
"None < light cannon < medium cannon < heavy cannon < hpv cannon < assault cannon < needle gun < rail gun < gauss cannon"
et cetera.
Or at least I think so.
