I've lost my memory!

I played this game weekly for 3 years after it first came out.  Now I have run across your site and decided to try it out again.  I downloaded it, installed it, launched it, I get to the first pause when the computer tells me rebels are coming to attack...  Now I can't remember how the hell to get out of pause!  I tried Ctrl-P, Alt-P, Esc.  All to no avail.  Help me!  What is the Pause key!!!

I think you are in the Intelligence Display menu right now.
Just try to get to the Manufacture menu.

Or close the menu by clicking on the green central icon of the lower-left icons menu.

Thanks for the replies.  In the end, it was a combination of first hitting the Esc key, then clicking the green icon in the center of the menu.
