How to do cheat mode

hey i checked out the wiki and when it says "Start the game with the ”--cheat” command line option."  does it mean that as soon as i start my new game and im actually playing i type that in on the keyboard?  or as soon as i double click the icon it opens up and i type that in?

If you are under Windows, open the Start menu then go to "run". Now, type this in the blank space:

"yourwarzonedirectory\warzone2100.exe" --cheat

Where "yourwarzonedirectory" c:\program files\warzone 2100

You can also make a shorcut to the program and at the end, insert the --cheat as shown above.

Yeah, that is true, but I just stick it on anyway, since I used lots of different config directories.

Unfortunately the cheats in Warzone2100 are still in pretty much the same state as they were when the source code was first released, and like much of the old code is in need some TLC.

The cheats are highly unstable and if not handled VERY carefully will almost certainly either crash the game outright, corrupt your game/saves so you have a crash in a later mission, or possibly make the current and/or future mission unwinnable.

All in all, if your having trouble just getting the cheats to work then consider yourself lucky in that you'll never know the pain of having to do an entire 1/3rd of the campaign again because you cheated in an earlier mission and now the game crashed every time you try to do this ONE mission.

How the original pumpkin debuggers/beta-testers managed to use them to do their jobs is beyond me, although some people could argue that given the original state of the game they didn't.

So I'm looking at wiki and it says to start the the game with "--cheat" but where do I put it in? do I change the name or type it will its starting. what is the command line option?
