Game does not have a SAVE option. HELP

My system: windows 8.1
warzone 2100 version: 3.1.2 open source free download
issue: can't save the game

HOW DO YOU SAVE THE GAME, so that you can load where you left off the next time you open the game? I do not have an option to save, so I have to start over everytime I play the game. please help somebody. I love this game and I don't want it to go to waste

In campaign & skirmish games, you press the ESC key.
Then you select save.

Not sure how you missed that?

Make the menu larger, tbf it's quite small at least for me on a 1920x1080 resolution. have to be quite accurate using the mouse and would be good if we can use arrow keys to also navigate it.
